10rc fans really liked Kelly, apparently he was a key recruiter for them. If that's Saban's angle, bring it on.

So Charles Kelly is the Jimmy Lake backup? If so, that's disappointing.

So, we are bringing Kelly back as a position coach, but not sure where he will coach.
Who reportedly turned down the DC position at Maryland, but would come here for a position coach.

Drew DeArmond is hinting that Davis will come back sometime in the spring.

And we are still waiting on a decision from Lake? Who seems to be the guy we really want as DC. Saban is playing this one close to the chest.

Lets assume that Lake is still in play even with Charles coming to Bama.....that means Carl is out the door as well. If...big If...but if Joe P were to take and off the field slot,Coach K leaves and Lake were to be the DC then this means Nick has wiped away his entire on the filed staff with the exception of Pete in one year...or three weeks.

I read Lake got a very nice $400K pay increase to stay at UW. Not sure if true.

At this point the goal is for Golding / Lake as DC’s with Sal / Kelly as position coaches. If Lake doesn’t come then things will change.

What about Lake?

Charles Kelly has accepted a position on the Alabama football staff.

We shall see. Offer on table from UW is 1.5-1.7 range. Obviously have the finances to match/exceed. Comes down to where Coach Lake and his family are most comfortable.

Do you think we are getting Lake from Washington?

DL. I expect Coach Kool to depart.

Do you think Sal is going to coach LBs or DL? He has experience with both.

If Lake sticks with UW then Sal,Pete, and charles take spots does that mean Coach K stays along with Karl? This would be the 1st time Bama has three coaches working the DB's (including Nick) then again from the look of the Clemson game they could use three. Use the spot of the QB to add to the defense.

These coaches willing to sign-on to The Nick staff at this point have ballz larger than Texas. Salute to them.

Looking at Karl's Bio he has never coached anything other than defense so I don't believe a switch to WR or RB or TE would be a landing spot at Bama.

We'll see.
