He did. That high flip on the double play cost us a run. I think he did have two sacrifice bunts though. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's not getting bunts down.

..and he can't hit off a t-ball stand..we signed the only kid in Louisiana who can't play baseball.

our only redeeming quality is we got good starting weekend pitching and our closer is pretty good. We are going to have to win 2-1 type ball games. Small ball will be our friend, if we can do it.

Lose game three 8-1 to Auburn, but still take the regular season series for the FIFTH straight year.

27-21 (12-12), probably a little more work to do to ensure we are in a regional. I believe the RPI was 52 coming into the weekend.

I know Arkansas is having a down year, but I see us dropping that series next weekend.

Anyone think we should keep Gaspard? I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Personally, I believe it's time to make a change. I'm just not sure Battle will do it.

It's past time. "Lack of facilities" is no longer an acceptable excuse.

He won't fire anyone. Dax Norris is too valuable as pitching coach and there's no way he's parting ways with Andy Phillips. All or none will be back in 2017.

I'd say next year is his last year if he can't push the envelope in '17. If Battle does anything with him this year, I'd be impressed.

We bring back a good core on the offensive side, so there's hope for improvement. But the pitching staff will be gutted by graduation and early draft entry.

With one .300 hitter, I'd say there's not much to get a core from.

The point being, several every day starters are back. Our most clutch hitters were freshmen.

I will not say until the season is over. Mainly because how we finish means something. If we miss a regional that is inexcusable. If we make it to Omaha somehow I would certainly want to keep him. On Battle, I don't think he will fire him.

I watched Georgie Salem go from a pretty good player to one that barely hits his weight over a couple of years, plus the only thing that I see that could remotely resemble a "clutch hitter" is the catcher. I hope you're right, but I don't see it.

That's a relative term with this offense, but still true.

if we lose the Ark series and then are one and done at the SEC then I do not see Bama getting an at large bid

We need to win the series at Arkansas. Beat Samford next week and don't get swept by South Carolina. That will get Alabama in. Anything else and we have to win a couple in Hoover.
