We loaded the bases with one out in the 8th and didn't score. Trail 3-2 going to the 9th. It's amazing how incompetent we are year in and year out when it comes to situational hitting.

Welp. Looks like we didn't improve at all over last year. Thanks Mitch.

Think we'll be a slightly better version of ourselves. No offense, pitching will sneak us into the NCAA tournament, lose with a whimper in the regional. Only difference is that our pitching staff is better than in recent years. I rode the Gaspard bandwagon longer than anybody, but he's got to go at the end of the year if it goes as predicted.

So fricking tired of the same shite.
Gaspard has had the same issues since he was hired in '10- hitting. The farthest he's taken a team is the Super Regional and that was with Jim Wells team. Even with that '13 squad with Ben Moore, Oversteet, Avant, Sullivan, Turnbull, Salem, and others he couldn't beat fricking Troy in the tournament.
Same old problems.

The offense has always been a problem. We'll be a .500 team in SEC play. If that happens, Gaspard is gone.

No doubt in my mind, we won't win any significant series in the SEC.

Need to avoid the sweep. Think we get the W today, but nonetheless, this weekend was disappointing.

Going to the b4 tied at 3.

Sorry I couldn't do the updates today guys, but I had homework.
Anyways, we won 7-6. Good to avoid the sweep, but again, it would be nice to have gotten this one at home before we open SEC play at the Box.

I'll take 2-2 this week, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Can't remember the last time we won in Hattiesburg.
The one positive is LSU is young and haven't gotten going yet. I'd much rather have them to open league play than have them in late April/early May.

SEC stats heading into conference play.
We lead the SEC in ERA at 1.60.
Bad news is we're last in batting with a .243 average. We're last in hits and runs scored, and it's by a wide margin (21 behind 13th for runs, 22 fewer hits than 13th).
In fact, we're 13th or 14th in every offensive category. It's scary how bad this offense is, and SEC play hasn't even started. I knew it was pathetic, but had no clue how far off we are from even a middle of the pack offense.
