I doubt he'll fire him, but I really hope Grubb and the OL coach aren't retained after this season. They both have been let downs.

Anyone heard if Grubb goes back up in the booth?
He needs to see the field.

I dont think it matters. He doesn't make adjustments during games when the defense does. He keeps calling the same things and we keep getting the same results. I have no confidence in him for this OU game. I think they dominate our offense, especially after watching the UGA film.

What should he call that he isn't?

I think Grubbs has tendencies and designs some dumbass plays that 1. Only work in practice and 2. Gets his qb killed.
We've all seen OCs and DCs that have been at Bama that shouldn't have been. Just because they are a coach doesn't mean they know what they are doing. For some it may just be timing, they're bright individuals but don't have the experience they need to be the coaches they'll become.
We all want every coach and player that comes to Bama to be successful. In reality there are bad coaches and players that don't pan out. To blindly put your head in the sand is not an option however. A fan can't just sunshine pump while the titanic goes down.
We may be on a readjusting sliding scale that everyone has to get use to the new norm but that still doesn't mean we should go quietly into the night.

Well if you watch the film he designs plays where guys are open... if they fail it's because his QB doesn't see it, doesn't throw it or throws it very inaccurately.
If his QB executes the play well and it still fails it's because his WR, TE or RB is dropping it or getting tackled by the first guy.
If Grubb is to blame for anything it's either not making these guys do more reps (Rico Scott missing that OBVIOUS block on the end around in 1st quarter) or Grubb not being more convincing in discussion with his QB or his HC.

We're getting blitz too easy by safeties and corners. Grubb calls too many plays where the WR's are bunched just outside the tackle and or TE's. It creates a shorter distance to the QB for a CB or Safety when they blitz.
He also doesn't call any swing passes to the running back on obvious blitzing situations. He has a tendency to run long developing pass routes when blitzes are coming. There are plays designed to beat blitzes a d I dont see him calling many of them.

Just don't turn the damn ball over. Win the turnover battle, Win the game

Actually the distance is shortened because DCs are bringing their safeties all the way down.
This is why we need a deep threat at times to make them have to at least respect that.
Another thing on each of those "long developing pass plays" there is a short outlet or hot. For instance in that INT he threw against UGA, the TE was on a late release and if Ty threw it to him he would have gained 20.
We also did run RB swings and outlets. We got a couple nice gains from some, dropped one and Ty missed on two throwing one into the ground.
