Inarguably the greatest of any national championship-winning QB who played for the Tide.

311-402 (77.4%) 4,500 yards 41 TDs 4 INTs

That stat line is freaking insane and he did it in just 13 games against nothing but P5 competition. Considering how unheralded Jones was for much of his career, playing behind Tua and Jalen, I think his is the greatest story of any starting Alabama QB in the history of our program.

He had the best season of any UA QB ever. Hell, statistically he had one of the best seasons of any college QB ever. I think he set the all time NCAA completion percentage record.

The amazing thing is he did it throwing twenty yards downfield. No slants, but driving the ball downfield. Mac just never missed a throw. I can only think of a couple misses on deep balls all season long, and one was just because they ran out of room through back of endzone.

Dream season for Mac.

He definitely had one hell of a season. I wasn’t expecting him to have the kind of season he did.

If you project his stats out to as many attempts as burrow took last season, it's pretty clear Jones was better this year than Burrow was last year. Jones has higher qbr, better passing %, better td to int ratio, better yards per attempt. Pretty much every single metric you can use that is agnostic to total attempts, Jones was better. Burrow had higher total yardage and more tds.

Maybe I’m wrong. Watching Mac play he reminds me of Tom Brady. Just plays with calmness in the pocket. Understands how to carve up a Def.
