I’m glad Kiffin wasn’t able to poach him, but I’m not over the moon about this dumb arse situation. Bad feeling about how this went down and would love to be proven wrong, but did we get shook down by a kid we were already paying a shite ton of money?

Yeah just because he was persuaded to not enter portal doesn’t change my opinion on what I said yesterday. This version of CfB in its current format from portal with NIL to playoff format is just bad for the game and ultimately I think will be bad for the players as well.

I was digging for Mbakwe news before I got distracted for a few minutes... I really thought I was replying on the rant.
FTR: I went to Bama from 07-11 and probably attended 50+ basketball games and all the football games allowed and enjoyed them all! Being an avid sports fan I worked in the Bryant Museum, working for the late Clem Gryska, Ken Gaddy, and Olivia Arnold and enjoyed that as well!
I requested here a long time ago to ask about Tuscaloosa post tornado because I was preparing to go back to Tuscaloosa for a game. Needless to say I barely recognized parts of the city and felt a disconnect so I no longer felt the need to talk about it.

You mean getting shook down like that, or shook down in some different way? Because this is professional football we're talking about here and there's no such thing as a "shakedown". It's all a negotiation.

This is the proper response. I like Lane for the most part. But he is bitter as frick he didn't get the call to replace Saban and he's got the equally bitter Pete Golding as his girl Friday. They are deliberately targeting Bama players and tampering out of spite. When Saban talked about people camped out in T-town trying to poach our roster when he retired he was talking about Lane. Well professionals in sports have contracts. And Saban maybhave shook down Bama to get a raise but had he taken the job Bama would have gotten a buyout from Texas. This is not professional in th least. All of professional sports players and teams are protected under a contract. If these players can get paid this much money then you have to be willing to let them take the criticism from fans that come with being a paid professional athlete. You can’t treat them like amateur children while paying them like professional athletes.
