Our team has been a bit Jekyll and Hyde this season so I am not feeling 100% confident going into this one but we have played well as of late so hopefully that continues. We have struggled for one half against both good teams we have played and in both cases it was too little to late. Both those games were on the road though. And while AU isn't great, they did beat UGA so they aren't terrible either.

a quick breakdown of our team:

QB - Leavitt has really come on the last few weeks. When he stays patient, he throws a damn good ball at all levels. He seems to have at least 1 WTF throw each game. If his hamstring heals up a bit during the bye and he can maintain his patience in the pocket then he will be very difficult to stop.

RB- its the Dillin Jones show. He is strong, quick, has great vision and almost always makes the first guy miss. His one draw back is that he doesn't seem to have break away speed.

WR- Jackson Harris is WR1 and has been for the last month. He does everything well and has good chemistry with Leavitt. Winnie Watckins is the slot and he is up and down. Makes some great plays but also takes some plays off which costs us. Eugene Wilson is the 3rd guy and he is great in the short game. very quick after the catch.

TE- Trey'Dez Green is the best TE in the country. He is a really good blocker in the run game and good luck matching up with him in the pass game.

OL- This is the weakest part of the offense, They seem to be gelling and playing better but they are not dominant. Seaton is about as good of a tackle as there is but the guards leave a bit to be desired.

DE-P Will might be the most underrated edge in the country. The guy can flat out get after the passer and is good against the run as well. Jordan Ross has really come on as of late as a playmaker too. Athletically, these two might be the best duo in the country.

DT- This group is 5 deep and rotate a good bit. The best of the bumch is true freshman Deuce Geralds. The kid has a bag of moves and causes disruption from the middle. The other 3 are very good as well.

LB- Dottery is very good and athletic. If Weeks is back that would be huge for us. He is a real difference maker. Keys is a solid LBer in his own right but Weeks is a different level.

S- This group has played incredibly this season. Cooley and Benefield are as good of a duo as there is. Spears got hurt but his replacement Jhase Thomas has been a bright spot on this defense.

CB- Pickett is as good as they come. a true eraser. Woodland is very good as well. They have not truly been tested this year as the pass rush doesn't make them cover for very long.

Tell me about your team.

Its funny to me that yall's biggest complaints are about the offense. Looking at box scores and highlights and who your HC is, I assumed the offense was your strength.

It was until our center was injured, and Grubb all but abandoned the run game.

Imagine, if you will, an offense predicated on deep shots off play action but the offense is allergic to running the ball. Perhaps this will interest you: a defense will either get a takeaway or give up double-digit play drive that melts away half a quarter like a magic trick. Special teams? We got em. You'll get lulled to sleep with them competently operating for games at a time only for them to have a game where they almost singlehandedly landmine the team.

How do they operate on the road? Buddy, do you like late shot clock check-with-me's and motions and resets on every play? Well, by God, you're getting them even at the expense of procedural penalties they cause!

sounds like you got two great coordinators who have done well with coaching your team up without your best player (green)

good thing about that is that we wont have to worry about losing our coaches , unlike you guys.

Leavitts going to have to have a Marcel Reed type of game , but i think Lane is going to use his legs, and your running game once that gets going the middle will open up for Green , once that gets going ole Lane will take a few shots down field.. He trust his defense and he has matured enough not to go for it on fourth and a ton.

KR is young, like all young QBs he is going to hold onto to the ball too long and at DV thats not going to work. Hopefully the game plan is ball control, but our OC is trying out for the big leagues and thinks thats too boring and will want to spice it up. Not too bright to do a good job at that.

Wommack is going to have to call the game of his life on defense

Just curious here because this seems pretty sunshiny...how did Ole Miss throw for 363 yards? Statistically that's really the only "explosive" offense y'all have seen. They couldn't run the ball at all against y'all and didn't really try to. It was evident what was coming and y'all couldn't really stop it. Are you that confident that they're just that good? No concerns it might be fools gold based on the opponents so far?

I did say that the CBs haven't really been tested but there are 3 explanations here:

1) Kiffin told our DC to play soft coverage and keep everything in front of us because he feared Chambliss. This allowed Chambliss to tear us up underneath all first half. In the second half, we stared attacking and we only allowed 8 points. Those 8 points came after we tied the game and went back to prevent soft coverage. We have not done that since.

2) it was game 3 for a team with a ton of turnover being tested for the first time on the road.

3) Spears got hurt this game and we did not have a plan without him. We tried his traditional backup who is essentially a LBer and Chambliss tore that kid up.
