Guys, honestly I wouldn't put it past Saban to fabricate the whole thing so he can make examples of upper classman and scare the younger guys

Here is the problem - a lot of u keep saying, “no big deal, just a movie”, “oh, they just forgot”, “relax, they are just college kids.” These are all excuses that do not reflect championship behavior or excellence. It’s accommodation at its best, lowering the bar and standard. Stop making excuses. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable behavior from an Alabama team. You all know it.

I don't necessarily disagree with you in principle, but this kind of shite happens. This kind of shite has happened with championship teams. Its happened with non-championship teams. Its not all that indicative of whether or not we get another natty this season IMO, so I think that there is a bit of over-reaction going around.

I think the reason you're getting some pushback on this is the title for the thread is over the top. The only thing King in Tuscaloosa is Alabama football and Saban. 4 guys on a team with 105 are in trouble for missing a movie. Now I agree these 4 shouldn't have missed a team meeting and making excuses for them is a little ridiculous, but Saban obviously has this under control and is sending a very loud message to everyone by holding upper classmen, starters and backups accountable. These are 4 guys expected to be leader and are in the spotlight. I would assume this probably just put the rest of the team on notice...don't screw up, it ain't tolerated.

This is exactly the attitude Saban is trying to eliminate.

You're a member of a team...you don't get to make this kind of distinction.

The reason it's not the end of the word isn't because it was a movie. It's because Saban handled it appropriately. That's why we're unlikely to see these guys in trouble again.

No I won’t take a chill pill - how many times have we heard in the past that players put their personal agendas and aspirations above the team? This is a case of that, it may be small, but it still comes from the same root of selfishness.

Yes, Saban in his years of coaching is unable to handle things, and the entire season is riding on your ability to act a fool on a forum.
