According to ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel, Lance Taylor has been hired as head coach of Western Michigan after serving as offensive coordinator at Louisville this past year. Taylor has been a rising star in the coaching ranks over the past 15 years.

And somewhere on Tide Fans, there are 5 or 6 posters already claiming "he'd make a fine successor to Nick Saban"...

Nice! Dubose/Fran/Shula era, I presume?

All DuBose for me, baby. 1997-2000. What a roller coaster ride that was. Well, it was pretty much a shitshow except for most of 1999 and some of 1998.

Pretty sure I’m two years older than Lance. I think Lance was a freshman in 1999. We were both receivers and Dabo was our position coach.

Lance was a good, tough player. When Fran came along in 2001 he started moving up the ladder and getting meaningful playing time.
