Tell him to go ahead and try out. It can't hurt to have extra kicker. Anything can happen. Plus he would spend lot of time with his good friend.

That wasn't all on the kicker either - some bad snap / holds - especially on the first PAT.

Punter- The new guy has been very serviceable. Is he JK Scott? Nope, not even close. But he's a far cry from Skyler DeShank too. All of his punts Saturday night were with a short field and he dropped them all inside or barely outside the 20. It's up to the coverage unit to down them. Also, in case you didn't notice, LSU watched the film on him too. We had all commented at how slow he was getting punts off last week and we were worried he was going to get one blocked. LSU came after him on every kick. I don't think they had a full fledged kick block called, but they rushed him fast and with purpose every time, not just a guy trotting back there to make sure he kicks it. 2 or 3 came every time and with bad intentions. He was solid. It wasn't spectacular, but he did his job and I'll take that all day long.

Bulovas has been serviceable as well. The missed EP's were both bobbled snaps which falls on Mack. I get why we switched holders, but it's a helluva time to make that switch. It should have been done much earlier in the year. It ain't like Tua just won the starting job. I never liked the fact that our starting QB and most irreplaceable part was on the field holding place kicks. That's just begging for trouble. Bulovas hit the only FG he was asked to make and it was pretty important too, as it was only 6-0 at the time. A miss or a block and the momentum definitely swings in their favor. I know the bad snaps threw the timing off, but I've always just felt like the short distance for an EP should allow the kicker on a bad snap to just stop and kick it flat footed and still make it. But they all shite their pants when the snap goes awry and usually whiff at it or kick it into a lineman's arse like happened Saturday.

Mack Jones-Piss poor job. The snap wasn't bad, he just bobbled it: mistake #1. Understandable since it was his first time under live fire. But...anybody that has played organized footballl knows that if you don't field it cleanly and get it down, it's an automatic "FIRE!" call and the eligible receivers should run their routes for the fire drill call. Jones didn't call it either time because nobody moved: mistake #2. Then he repeated the whole thing later in the game: mistake #3.

I'm first in line to mock our kicking, but Bulovas has been at least average and not all that bad if the snap is fine. Thankfully, to this point, kicking hasn become a bathroom break between Tua and Q Williams killing people.

Our punting situation won't be an issue in most games, but it's an issue if we get in a tight game.
