To eliminate communication problems and busted coverage explosive plays vs Ole Miss, Saban insisted on our basic Nickel D with zone coverage, not allowing Golding to make presnap calls vs their fast tempo. It worked great.

As I stated, part of lacking focus is lack of preparation which definitely falls with the coaches. I’m ready for Golding to move on as pretty much 99.999% of the tide faithful are. I do however realize that part of our lacking defense falls on the players too. We should not be quick to scapegoat just a singular coach, and hope that firing him will suddenly fix everything. The players have the ability to improve now, and they should whether Golding sticks around or not

If our interior DL play really well then everything changes for the better for the Bama defense.

Was the 10RC OL not up to speed or did our DL actually play well?

I believe they had a couple starters out with injuries for the game.
