I read an article below that said Coach Saban has already said we are getting away from the Pro Set and going more to the RPO offense. If we do that, Milroe definitely has an improved chance. It also says BOB is probably gone. As for Mullens, I thought he was supposedly burned out on coaching. He can probably keep a job with the networks as long as he wants. money can change your attitude, but he has to have millions in the bank already.

Last week on wjox they were talking about people that surprised them when they actually met them in person.
One of the guys on wjox said Mullen had surprised him, because he was actually friendly and easy to talk to. He expected Mullen would be a little bit arrogant.

RPO doesn't have to mean a lot of running from the QB. Tua is a master of running the RPO. He does it with his eyes and his timing. Milroe has not shown the ability to get the ball out quickly and I don't think I've ever seen him move the defense with his eyes.

No clue if Simpson is good at those things. But my point is the RPO is about more than running with the QB.

Provide a link, because that's not exactly what he said.

Its in a Chris Walsh article dated 12/25/22 --Reports indicate Bill Obrien could return to Patriots.

"However Saban has said that the Crimson Tide will go back to more of a Run-pass option offense next season after being more of a pro-set for Young"

They ran a TON with Mac Jones, he had the 3rd highest percentage of passes coming from RPOs in his draft class.

It can create cracks in the defense because players have to make judgement calls on it being a run/pass.

quote:

“I think it puts stress on the defense,” Jones said. “I definitely learned in college, just watching coach Saban sometimes explode at practice. He’s trying to tell somebody to do something, but his guy’s running a route. But it’s also a run. Is it a pass? So there’s a lot of cool gray area there from an offensive perspective.”

ETA: ...and funny enough, RPO as a concept is claimed by Meyer/Mullen when a WR mistakenly ran a bubble screen instead of run blocking at a Utah practice. QB saw it, and threw to the WR instead of getting hit in the backfield on a called run.

yea, I just dont think you will see our quarterbacks reading the defense and calling audibles every down like BY has done this year. May be back to hurry up to the los, and then look over to the sideline for the play.
