UVA will have to decide about their future in athletics and the decision will make itself.

I see 24 being the end destination to be quite honest. There will be plenty of room for Virginia in the big tent.

Virginia Tech and one of the NC schools would round out the states that seceded.

I’ll take UNC and Clemson. That would give us strong footholds in the SC and NC markets. Then Virginia would maybe be my third choice.

Virginia is not serious about sports and I hear Virginia Tech is not putting any money in either. With UNC you get a blue blood basketball program and Clemson is also very SEC like.

That’s sort of right about VT. They had pretty much zero NIL game but I suspect James Franklin insisted that the school get serious about NIL before he took the job there. Given the crap load of guys he poached from Penn State to come there, it seems reasonable to assume VT is “in the NIL game” now.

They had an anonymous gift of 20 million when Franklin signed. A massive step up for them. Is it sustainable? Time will tell.

Franklin has brought in a massive talent upgrade to Blacksburg relative to what VT had on campus when he arrived. While I don’t expect them to have top ten team, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them win 8-9 games next Fall. Barring a boat load of injuries, they’re going to surprise people next year.

Good, I'm sick and tired of adding juggernauts that make life harder. Let's add some wins.
