I wasn’t there yesterday but if I had to guess, the boos were more directed at the coaches than the player. At this point, I don’t blame Talty. It’s now on the coaches for putting him out there.

DeBoer indicated that he didn’t miss a kick all week in practice. Well, that doesn’t matter and hasn’t all year. How you play in practice doesn’t matter if you can’t replicate it in the game.

If someone has connections to the coaches, please make sure they understand that the fans are booing them, not the player (DeBoer doesn’t seem to get things like that as there are several things that go right over his head…like not understanding a reporter last year when asked twice why he didn’t tell Bernard to fall down in the SC game to end it with kneeling the ball instead of the disaster last 2 minutes where we almost lost the game).

I was.

They weren’t booing the coaches, they were booing Talty.

The guy basically blew the OU game and is now internet meme bait for how he reacted.

There were at least 4 other reasons we lost that game that were worse than Talty (including the officials not calling the leverage flag), but he definitely is on the list of reasons.

I should have differentiated that the booing right after the miss was likely directed at Talty, but the booing when he trotted back out there seems like it would be more directed at the coaches. What’s the point of booing a player the coaches refuse to bench…it’s on the coaches at that point.
