You know who else had an arm that was thought not strong enough and “didn’t scare you,” Peyton Manning. I’m not saying Buchner is anything close to Manning, but if you have confidence, accuracy, and can make good decisions, you can be a good QB without the strongest arm…especially if you have playmakers all around you.

Umm…not sure what was said that needed “chilling,” but ok.

Is Simpson a family friend of yours? Not sure why you are so heated about him being the guy given his performances.

Bro,

You comparing Buchner to a legend.

I'm not heated at all. I'm like Allen Iverson...we still talking about PRACTICE? Not a game but PRACTICE?

Buchner is actually similar to the guy Arkansas had back in 15 maybe. I can't recall his name.

Simpson not even close to ready. Can't read the defense at all.

Longeran, game too fast for him

Both of these are true about Milroe. I disagree about Simpson, from the little action I’ve seen from him, he can actually read a defense.

Upvote for legendary quote, but remind me how many championships Iverson won? (I’ll save you the trouble…it’s a goose egg).

I wasn’t comparing Buchner to Manning and made that clear in the post. Just pointing out that elite arm strength isn’t required to be a decent QB, especially on a good team. It certainly helps, but there are other qualities that are more important like throwing a receiver open rather than throwing to an open receiver. Not sure Buchner can do the former, but if he can do the latter he is better than JM.

Ty Buchner is better than Jalen Milroe period.

That's dirty bro. You didn't have to do AI like that lol

He should try showing that to the coaches. There is a reason he is third on the depth chart. He may get there eventually, but he was not close in August

I don't think that it is inexplicable that he left Milroe in considering how poor our pass protection is. Could Buchner, Simpson, or Longeran have done better? Possibly. I reckon it would have been worth a shot, but putting in the next guy when the pocket is immediately collapsing every play-i can see why he made the decision not to.

That being said, I hope, like most of you, that we see the other guys get some chances.

One thing I don't really understand is why we didn't see 26 more or 22. There might be a good reason but when you have players like that, it seems like you'd use them. 5 and 2 are fine runningbacks, but why not use your whole arsenal?

I remember plenty of people wanting McElroy to go in during the Florida and Utah games of the 2008 season. Same thing for AJ during 2010. The GOAT has not changed, just a bunch of arm chair generals rewriting history.

Preferably I'd like him to swap out to whoever can go into a game manager role since he wants to get back to ground and pound. Milroe could always be used in a special situation. I think Saban has just forgotten what it is like to utilize a game manager. Not willing at all to say he is done yet though.
