I Miss Fun Recruiting and Exciting Signing Days

Those pre-NIL and early signing period days under Saban were so much fun. It was like Christmas morning. Fax girl era was peak.
Now...I'm glad to see us ranked highly in recruiting...glad to see when a 4 or 5 star commits...but I don't follow it at all like I used to. They've really sucked the fun out of it. If we have a top 7-8 class annually, I'm fine...because with NIL and the portal recruiting rankings don't even mean as much as they used to.

With the transfer portal and NIL it doesn't really matter as much what your recruiting rankings are. Most of these guys won't be around in 3 years. Look at all the guys that signed 3 years ago and would be juniors:
