What you're referring to is because we start 4 true freshman on defense. In fact, I think we lead the nation in number of freshmen starting. BAMA is a very young team overall. It showed last night.

I was referring to our offense...especially in the first half

It seemed as though lsu took those two weeks and game planned. They saw our weak spots and used them. It seemed as though we didn't. we expected to go out there, play our normal offense, and not attack LSU's weak spots in defense. 2 weeks and those stupid slow plays were what we came up with??

Not blaming Sark at all. He didn’t drop passes or throw picks. If you have a QB of Tua’s ability (and he is one of the greatest of all time), you use it.

I think Sark is a fantastic OC. His play-calling, late in the game on Bama’s last few drives, was masterful. Bama scored at will.

Not establishing the run in the first half was a very dumb move.

Bama needs to control the ball on offense due to a shitty defense.

Meh...a good oc watches game film and calls better plays in the first half. How do you call a slow play with a pulling lineman on the end with no blocker to cover the guy he just left? I think LK would have done a better job play calling last night.

His play-calling and management of the offense on the last drive...when we were down by two scores...was as if we still had a quarter and a half to play, instead of only 8:30. This sequence was maddening:

2nd & 1 at LSU 49
(8:35 - 4th) Tua Tagovailoa pass incomplete to Henry Ruggs III

3rd & 1 at LSU 49
(8:15 - 4th) Tua Tagovailoa pass complete to DeVonta Smith for 21 yds to the LSU 28 for a 1ST down

1st & 10 at LSU 28
(7:50 - 4th) Najee Harris run for 4 yds to the LSU 24

2nd & 6 at LSU 24
(7:17 - 4th) Tua Tagovailoa pass incomplete to Henry Ruggs III

3rd & 6 at LSU 24
(7:00 - 4th) Najee Harris run for 2 yds to the LSU 22

(6:32 - 4th) Timeout ALABAMA, clock 06:32

You can't take a full minute to get two plays off. Slowness in getting plays in and getting aligned, then running the play clock down, was bad. It was as if we never practiced for that scenario. When you're down 2 touchdowns with only 8:30 left, you have to run the offense with a sense of urgency.

It was completely maddening. Just no sense of urgency. We didn’t have to go full HUNH but we just seemed to be taking our sweet time and even looked a little discombobulated.

LSU’s offense seemed to scheme better and was tougher to defend than our offense.

To answer your question I think fans have been more frustrated with Golding over the course of the season and that’s why he’s catching the brunt of it now. We still show signs of alignment confusion at snap. We’re still missing tackles. We still cannot defend the middle of the field.

Sark had one horrible half. Didn’t Najee have 4 rushes for 31 yards at halftime? Why weren’t we feeding him more? The three and out around the 3:30 mark in the 2nd qtr was abysmal. If we get the first down there it saves us at least 7 maybe 14 pts going into the half.

To the OP: He’s not. Because we pretty much knew the defense was a sieve just waiting to be run through. Our only hope was a great game by our vaunted offense that matched them score for score. Instead, we went out and shite the bed for a half with poor play calling (pulling OL on short yardage, failing to get a 1st down after Najee gets 7 on 1st) mistakes (Tua's fumble and INT) and just all around stupid bone head plays (DICKERSON!). So the crappy game plan and calls combined with the dumb mistakes dug us a 20 point hole we couldn't dig out of.

The defense is what we thought they were. The offense let us down when we needed them.
