They don't scare anybody. I'm an old school win in trenches guy and I like our guys better than theirs on both sides of the ball. But I suppose it depends which offensive game plan we get. If it's Milroe patting the ball in the pocket for 4 seconds, things could get ugly. If it's the LSU plan with called QB runs and "check the 1st pass read, if nothing there, tuck it and go" Bama clears by 10.
Edit: I think Jermaine Burton goes nuclear in this game for obvious reasons.

UGA's kind of hard to nail down to me. When I looked at the stats last week I agreed with the line being 4-5.5. They appear to play up and down to competition as opposed to the sheer domination the media likes to project. That either means they truly are inconsistent or they're so good they can sleepwalk through games. Only consistent thing about UGA is wins. That being said, they haven't seen a defense like Alabama's all year unless you want to count Ball State's which statistically is closest to Bama's.
The question is, was the Auburn game a temporary return to poor form for Bama? If we break out the LSU gameplan on offense and play solid d Bama will win. I think we have to establish the run by any means. Anything else and Bama can still win but it'll be sphincter time.
Personally, I think we've haulted the LSU play calls to minimize film. I think we pull out all of the stops here.
If we're talking about the playoffs, Bama has to steamroll UGA and force their way into it. I think this is the mindset. Hope I'm right.

He has two injuries and was in street clothes for GT. I think he doesn’t play.

I think it was back and ankle? It’s really hard to get back injuries better quickly. Ask Moore.

it’d be poetic justice to beat georgia without one or two of their top receivers. ill take it.

It’s got a lot of 2009 kinda feel to it

UGA has two weak points on defense that I have seen based on watching a little of the GA Tech game. Law (19) or Niblack (84) can be used to hammer those weak spots. The weak spot is in the middle of the triangle Star/MLB/Safety.
#1 Pass coverage weak spot - Ball on right hash. 2 WR wide spit to left. 1 WR split right.
Version #1 - QB shotgun, RB on his right, Law (19) on his left. Play action to RB outside zone right. Law (19) runs at the SAM OLB to the left like he is going to block. Slip past the SAM to the middle of the triangle. 8 yard pass with room to run.
Version #2 - QB shotgun, RB on his left or pistol, HB (84) tight on right. Late HB motion. Inside zone play action to RB. Niblack looks like he is going to kick-out the SAM OLB, then slip past him to the middle of the triangle. 8 yard pass with room to run.
#2 run weak spot - Trips right TE left, QB shotgun, RB pistol. Law (19) inside slot tight right.TE outside release, RB lead block wide to left, Law (19) cross in front of QB read option to follow RB. QB fake/read to Law then run behind the LT/LG. 5 yard crease and cut on the safety.
Both plays should be big hit plays.

One other pass play with good potential.
Ball on right hash. (11) at split end left on the hash. (17) flanker left but outside the hash. 11 release outside left and 17 cross over to inside the hash. If the CB and Star swap, 11 runs a 12 yard out and 17 takes the Star on a deep fade. I doubt the star can sty with him.
If the CB and Star are locked up in man and do not swap, 17 runs a 12 to 15 yard dig and 11 takes the star deep with a wheel. Again, I dount the Star can keep up with 11 deep.

Damn I love you Twisted. Keep it coming.
Will we commit to throwing more to the middle of the field? I assume from your plays it’s mostly all getting the MLB and safety in coverage?

I just hope we have made adjustments to the eye candy that AU threw at us with TE/Hbacks crossing in the backfield with potential blocks that made our LBs play slow and get out of position. Beck is not the runner Thorne is but still…

I didn't watch the UGA-GA Tech game on Saturday, but GA Tech rushed for 200+ yards. So I imagine UGA was getting shoved around at least a little bit on the LOS.
To add to this, fAU ran for 219 yards on UGA (and 244 against us).

UGA was not getting shoved around. GT and AU were creating LB flow and hitting the backside edge of the flow. The MLB's were slow in recovery. It just takes one or two hard steps by the MLB's to generate a crease.

The MLB's were flowing hard to play action. The first two plays I suggested key on that flow (an establishment of intent to run). the soft spot (triangle) is about 3 to 4 yards outside of the LT and 8 yards down the field.

Bama is a big play team. UGA should outplay Bama on a play by play basis.
Bama will have to cash in on a few big plays to win this one. That's my opinion.

A 4th potential play using the LB flow.
Middle of the field ball placement. QB shotgun, HB (84) right - tight, 11 wide right, 3 left hash, 17 wide left, RB left of QB.
Inside zone fake with a half QB bootleg roll right. HB chip then flair right, 11 outside release deep post right, 17 inside release go on left with a slight post bend, 3 deep over from left to right about 15 yards deep.
MLB bites on play action flow, CB and playside safety go deep with 11. Backside safety watching/helping on 17 deep. OLB on right chases (84). 3 on the deep over has a 8 ~ 10 yard wide runway at 15 yards deep at the right hash.

The UGA safeties look to be really good. I doubt we will hit a deep post on them as easily as we have on others. The Star and the young CB on our left side look to be their weakest DB's but the CB is improving. MLB's look to be run heavy but not great at pass coverage.
The 3 pass plays take the Safeties out of early coverage and key on the slower Star and slow reaction MLB's.

I think one thing rarely being discussed is the relative gap in talent the two teams have faced
2023 Talent Composite
Bama is 1st with 1,015.43
UGA is 2nd with 977.80
Bama's competition for comparison:
TAMU is 4th with 926.20
Texas is 6th with 913.24
LSU is 7th with 899.31
UGA's best?
UF at 15th with 844.17
Talent obviously isn't everything, but I do think it's a good sign we've already faced multiple opponents with rosters in UGA's realm, but UGA hasn't seen anything close to what Bama can put on a field
