I understand your point but we're also probably 6 plays from being 8-7. Our loses weren't close loses. The team was ill prepared for multiple games. All of which is coaching. You've a coach that transforms a team in 2 years and then you've another coach who's team looks like crap in multiple games. We got number 2.
Imo he has another year to prove himself. Doubt he'll get more than that.

Counting ranked-when-we-played-them is silly. We beat 3 ranked teams by the CFP rankings (the only ones that matter): UGA (1-1), Oklahoma (1-1), Vanderbilt (1-0). So we went 3-2 against the final CFP top 25. Not bad but not 5 wins.
