If you actually believe this, you're one of the most naive fans around. Gave up his post? Are you effing kidding me?

I mean, I don't think that Lane just up and approached Nick and told him that he wasn't going to coach the next game. I also don't believe that Saban told him to GTFO or anything like that.

I think that Saban called for a meeting, and in an honest conversation, they came to the reasonable conclusion that it was best for both parties.

Did Kirby Smart, or Jim McElwain, complain about having to live in Tuscaloosa? Did either of those guys throw shade on their colleagues, or moan about never having any fun moments in Tuscaloosa?

The guy went from living in Southern California to living in Tuscaloosa. He didn't complain, he said something that is obvious to most people. And when did he "throw shade" at his colleague that wasn't clearly tongue-in-cheek?

Taking Thamel along and being interviewed was one of the stupidest, most narcissistic acts someone in Kiffin's position could ever pull.

give me a fricking break, man. You are totally turning a mole-hill into a mountain. If it was as despicable as you are acting, Saban wouldn't have even let him coach the semi-final game.

Look, Kiffin is a douche. He's always been. We knew that when we hired him. Why are you suddenly acting outraged because he is acting like himself? I appreciate, and enjoyed the hell out of his time at Alabama, more-so than I could have ever imagined. I couldn't care less about his interview with Thamel, and I find his brutal honesty admirable.

You're calling me naive while completely buying into a media gimmick that has no known basis in reality.

There is literally not a single piece of evidence that suggest any bad blood between Kiffin and any one at the university.

Any rational person that watched that press conference know that he was a) making a joke, and b) showing respect and appreciation for what Saban has taught him during his time here.

He was fired...plain and simple.

Again, zero evidence to support this claim, and it's contrary to every ounce of insight that we have been given into the program and his time there.

The article came out 48 hours before the game. At that point Saban didn't have much choice.

Don't get me wrong...Kiffin's preparation, or lack thereof, leading up to that game was just as much of an issue, if not more, than the article itself. The bottom line is that Saban pulled the trigger because Kiffin just wasn't doing his job. This was a firing. Sure, Saban called for the meeting, but Kiffin had no choice. Saban has portrayed this as being as amicable as possible out of professional courtesy to Kiffin, but that's it.

I'm not a bit outraged. I've thought all along from the thought from the moment Kiffin was hired that it was pure genius. Don't mistake my belief that the other guy's post was pure silliness as some hatred on my part toward Kiffin. He is what he is...narcissistic, immature, at times unprofessional. But he's also the best OC we've ever had, and I hope he's successful. I've been glad to have had him for the time we did. I don't expect him to be very successful at FAU though, mostly for reasons beyond his control.

"Media gimmick"? What an utter absurdity. I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where Pete Thamel abducted him at gunpoint and drove him around Boca Raton.

Again, zero evidence to support this claim,

What...you mean other than the fact that he didn't do his job?
