Recall him well from listening to games
he played in back then. I still hear the voice of John Forney in my mind calling out the names of those players. RIP Steve Sprayberry.

What happened? My dad used to be friends with him, but hadn't heard he passed away.

Go to sylacauganews.com

I have not mastered how to do a copy and paste here.

Sylacauganews.com just states he died at a hospital after a brief illness, and gives some of his biographical info.

I met Steve during registration for classes at Alabama. We graduate teaching assistants did the grunt work during registration.

I remember Steve from his large physical size, and his very friendly personality.
