Agree 100%. Throw in either Burton/Fleming and Flowe/ Smalls and we are on the way for another Number One class. QB will be all important too since we got stiffed by that turncoat.

I just reserved three posts on the prior page for some thoughts on our QB, RB and TE recruiting.

Eta: Finished those posts.

Did you see what Jayson Jones posted on twitter today?
LINK

WTF I thought he was committed to us. He is posting his top 11 while committed to us.

He's committed to keeping his options open. Most of these guys couldn't define commitment.

The Top 11 part is what got me. You are committed and you are still considering all those schools? So why did you commit and why are you still committed? Ridiculous.

That's a retweet of RJ Mickens' top 11 tweet. It's not Jayson Jones' top 11.

However, I saw Jones' tweet, retweet and pinned tweet about him getting an offer from Oregon. If he continues promoting himself as open to being recruited by other schools, he may cause himself to get recruited over and lose his spot at Bama.

Imo, the only commits who should be labeled as "hard commit" by recruiting sites are those who shut down their recruitment and don't "flirt" with and visit other schools after committing. The rest should be labeled "firm" or "soft" commit.

And his comments have been borderline disrespectful to our school and staff. Don't think he ends up with us unless Saban decides he really has to have him.

? @RjMickens10 All glory to God, top 11 schools. The #1 Safety. JJ was just retweeting it.

Doesnt take much to see that #10 is a skinny kid compared to JJ and then there is the RJMickens next to the picture.

Dont Panic take a breath and look at the Image.
RJMickens

JJ may just be recruiting for Bama by keeping his communications open with this guy 2020's #1 Safety

Alabama commitment impressed with Clemson (Clemson247-VIP)

quote:

Javier Morton made the trip to Clemson for the Tigers' most recent junior day... The Tigers have yet to offer, but Morton hopes that changes. "I'm pretty solid to Alabama but Clemson really was an eye-opener. My recruitment is wide open. Everything opened my eyes. Even my dad said they topped Alabama and he is in love with 'Bama."

Morton has been committed since Dec, 2017; solidly without visiting others until recently -- USCe in Nov, GT in Jan, CU last weekend and Florida this coming weekend.

The Recruiting Calendar post on this thread's 1st page now includes a link to this excellent article:

Recruiting 101: The Calendar (Rivals)
quote:

Recruiting is known as the “lifeblood” of a college football program, but the complexity of the process can be confusing for prospects and college football fans alike. In our Recruiting 101 series we will look to clarify some basic topics, and explain more advanced topics, about college football recruiting, and answer those questions you have been afraid to ask. This week’s topic is about the recruiting calendar.

The recruiting calendar is the clock that gives cadence to the entire recruiting process, and it has undergone some significant changes in the last few years. We start with the core aspects of the calendar and work our way into some of the more recent changes. In this article we will be dealing exclusively with rules governing the Football Bowl Subdivision, previously known as Division I-A. (more)

Texting overload is No. 1 gripe among top prospects (Rivals)
quote:

TORRANCE, CA - To all college coaches: Stop texting so much. That was the message conveyed from top prospects Sunday at the adidas West Coast Invitational about the arduous recruiting process that starts off as fun and exciting and can quickly turn into a headache. (more)

RCS Tampa: Players predict where fellow players will land (Rivals)
quote:

Demarkcus Bowman

LAKELAND, FL - It’s our job at Rivals.com to cut through all the noise and zero in on where the nation’s top players will end up playing their college football. Sometimes when it comes to searching for information, the best intel comes from fellow elite prospects. At Sunday’s Central Florida stop of the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas, we surveyed several players about where four elite prospects will eventually land. Here are the results. 5-star CB Kelee Ringo 6-2/205 AZ hudl

247 West mod Blair Angulo CBd Ringo to Texas yesterday. Texas mod EJ Holland CBd him to Texas in Dec. Ringo's mom works for an airline and they can both fly standby for free. He's visiting UT now (again) and might stay there for his entire spring break. His mom is expected to visit too while he's there. With his ability to fly for free, I wonder why he hasn't visited Bama since his camp visit in June, as there was reportedly very strong mutual interest then.

Eta: Another Texas mod CBd Ringo to Texas today (3/14).

Interesting quote. I'm wondering what Clemson did to "top" Bama on their Junior Day.

Clemson's facilities are every bit as good as Alabama's and in some cases better (newer). The Dabo's atmosphere is more relational while Saban's is more business. Some kids like heavy structure and some prefer it more relaxed.

Aside from some facilities being newer, does Clemson really have facilities that are better? I kinda just assumed that at the top level (e.g. Bama, Clemson, anOSU, etc.), facilities were all six of one, half a dozen of another.
