you said we basically got one season out of them...thats basically saying they dont play.

We can beat at least 90% of our schedule without getting out of first gear.

It's the remaining <10% which for me and I'm sure for these kids are the key games that matter. The ones they want to be part of.

When things are always too complex and/or too risky for our other guys specifically in these key matchups; that's why we have situations like our freshman All-SEC Anoma wanting to transfer.

Wait and see next year.

Phidarian will be another Q and Ray another Allen. These guys have been good though, so the question needs to be asked why haven't had more reps in the big games?

How are we gassing when we can run six deep? We had Buggs on one leg out there ffs.

When we needed an outside rush, why didn't we make an easy to understand package or have situational usage for Eyabi Anoma?

That's what all I'm asking.

Agreed on Anoma. It sucks but Saban being stubborn is what makes him good. Yes it hurts us times also. Will be interesting to see who gets snaps this season with the injured pass rushers coming back.

I hope Allen wins a spot somewhere as well. Good kid , good measurables and left LSU backyard to come here.

Sark isn’t going to even halfway fill Tosh’s shoes as a recruiter. Not speaking against him as a coach, but he can’t hold a candle to Tosh recruiting.

He was the most dominant player during the A day game. Would love to see a special package with Anoma, Allen, and Lewis.

He is big enough to go inside if we want the top 4 LBs on the field at the same time

Meanwhile, some notable Feb 7-10 CB picks:

5* DE Bryan Bresee > Clemson, by Steve Wiltfong and 2 CU mods.

4* CB Fred Davis II > Cloudy (was UF) by Steve Wiltfong.

5* RB Zachary Evans > Cloudy (was ATM) by ATM mod Damon Sayles.

Along with a couple more WRs and ILBs. Going to need to reload bc I think our top 3 WR will flirt with the NFL

Yea, I really wanted another receiver in the '19 class. We really need 3 or 4 in this class

Yeah, this class has a nice crop of RBs. Along with commit Roydell Williams, Bama definitely wants to land an elite RB (e.g., Evans or Milton) and maybe a speedster APB too.

Saban historically values trust over talent. Why veterans have played in the past over clearly more talented players.

Its frustrating sometimes, but he has a lot of rings for it too.

next for Alabama recruiting, and the position Tide could still seek more help

quote:

The work has mostly been on the 2020 class in recent weeks, Saban said, though there’s still a position they could stand to find another for 2019. The Tide lost tight end Hale Hentges to graduation and Irv Smith Jr., to the NFL draft. “If we saw an opportunity to get a more seasoned player out there at that position, maybe that’s something that we’d look at.” Alabama signed tight end four-star Jahleel Billingsley in December and return Miller Forristall and Kedrick James at the position. The Tide was recruiting Brett Seither of Clearwater, Flordia but he signed with Georgia on Friday instead. There are a few tight ends who have entered the transfer portal, though few on 247Sports database have immediate eligibility for 2019.

Where does Alabama stand in 2020 recruiting? (al.com)

Roydell Williams
quote:

Alabama coach Nick Saban pioneered the early recruiting craze during the early 2000s at LSU, a trend that’s been accelerated with the creation of college football’s Early Signing Period.

So where do Alabama stand as Saban and his new-look coaching staff turn their full attention to the Class of 2020? At the top, right where you'd expect them to be.

The Crimson Tide already has 10 commitments for the Class of 2020, including six -- yes, six! -- from inside Alabama’s borders: Calera 4-star lineman Jayson Jones, Hewitt-Trussville 4-star teammates Malachi Moore and Dazalin Worsham, Muscle Shoals 4-star linebacker Jackson Bratton, Hueytown 4-star running back Roydell Williams, and 3-star Pickens County lineman Jah-Marian Latham.

Alabama’s national recruiting prowess means it’s usually selective about the in-state players it heavily pursues, but 2020 looks like a cycle in which Saban loads up on Alabama talent.

Lanett athlete Kristian Story, Jackson-Olin linebacker Quandarrius Robinson, Montevallo receiver J.J. Evans and Hoover quarterback Robby Ashford, all 4-star prospects, remain Alabama targets.

It’d certainly be notable if Alabama signed 10 in-state players, considering last year’s team featured only Wenonah’s Quinnen Williams on the defensive line and Carver-Montgomery’s Mack Wilson at linebacker as in-state players filling prominent roles.

Alabama currently has just one 5-star commitment, St. Frances (Md.) defensive end Chris Braswell, who could end up playing linebacker for the Tide.

Don't let that bother anyone.

Defensive end Bryan Bresee, the nation's No. 1 prospect, who like Braswell is from the Washington, D.C. area, is considering the Crimson Tide, and Mount Juliet (Tenn.) athlete Reggie Grimes is the son of a former Alabama football player and an Alabama track athlete. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Grimes projects as a linebacker but has also excelled as a high school running back.

Alabama also signed running back Keilan Robinson from St. John's College High last week, and he played at the same school at 2020 5-star linebacker Mekhail Sherman and 5-star receiver Rakim Jarrett. Alabama should have a solid foundation in those two players' recruitment.

Yes, Florida Mr. Football and 4-star quarterback Carson Beck recently decommitted from Alabama, but remember 2019 signees Evan Neal and Trey Sanders committed to Alabama early in the recruiting process, decommitted, made visits to multiple other schools and ultimately picked the Tide on Early Signing Day. So, let’s not yet close the book on Beck.

Plus, Alabama seems to be an active player in the recruitment of Ashford. In addition, 5-star St. John Bosco (Calif.) DJ Uiagalelei -- the nation’s No. 1-ranked pro-style quarterback -- listed Alabama among his finalists on New Year’s Eve. Or could Alabama flip Athens quarterback Logan Smothers, who is committed to Nebraska?

There's a long way to go before December, when Alabama will likely sign the majority of its 2020 class and even longer before February 2020 when the complete class if finalized.

Alabama’s class is currently ranked No. 1 nationally, but LSU, Florida, Texas A&M and Auburn are all currently in the top 12. Can Alabama stay at No. 1 in the recruiting rankings again? Bama's off to a promising start. Stay tuned.

Phidarian and Ray will not be close to as dominant as Q and Allen were. Q and Allen showed flashes of dominance as freshmen and as backups. Ray nor Phi have shown that kind of talent but they both have shown enough to expect above average seasons. Ray maybe more so than Phi.

Hope you’re right though.

Someone said Pruitt said something similar to what you dribbled so you took that to confirm your dribble...I last saw that in third grade.
