Might as well let everyone "commit" to LSU now and when they get crushed by 29+ again, see how good they feel about it.

Has that nolacapstone guy “predicted” any other recruits than Soshper and Surtain? It seems like people are putting a lot of stock in him if those are his only ones. Although it is hilarious to see people like FightinTiga melt down over him.

I am not sure, but in the same thread on BOL another insider and Tim Watts both stated that no matter what happens on the 26th the recruitment isn't over. Which is nothing earth shattering, but reading between the lines my guess is he is going to announce LSU on the 26th. My hope is that he is doing this to get the pressure off of him from the LSU locals.

I am sure dealing with that kind of pressure everyday gets old and tiresome. Also, Tim Watts doesn't seem concerned. I know he doesn't really tip his hand one way another unless he is just about 100% positive but still you don't see any threads or comments from him that suggest he is setting up that board for disappointing news. Even Shea Dixon says

quote:

"Alabama is still confident, but LSU is carrying some very, very real confidence right now and have been since last month. I am close to putting my pick in for LSU. Once I put in the prediction I won't go back on it since I have not made one on Roy to this point"

You would think with the trending news of Roy to LSU that Alabama would be less confident. So my stupid kind of conspiracy guess is that He will announce LSU on the 26th to relieve the pressure but will ultimately sign with Bama. Bama staff is trusting that he will keep his word and if does we get Roy and we also played LSU, again. Perhaps thats why our insiders, Tim Watts and Alabama are still confident, they know that long term plan. Again I know it's probably not going to play out like that but it's fun to explore.

It's kind of hard to imagine that a Louisiana kid would commit Twice to LSU and renege twice on them. That would make him Public Enemy No 1 in LA forever.
But it's an amusing thought for a Bama fan.

I haven't been on BOL long enough to know if nolacap made other predictions on LA recruits prior to those two. He said "Sopsher is Bama" a year before he signed and never waivered from it, even when Sopsher was so adamantly saying he and his brother were a package deal.

Sometimes what a recruit does and says will give significant confidence to the coaching staffs of two (or more) contenders.

For example, LSU felt very confident about Sopsher for most of his recruitment. And LSU was very confident about signing Surtain all the way to NSD.

Another example of that was Bobby Brown (DLfrom TX) who was telling Bama's staff he'd sign with the Tide on the 1st day of the early signing period, but signed with ATM instead.

Trey Sanders is another example. UGA felt sure they had him and a flurry of CBs went their way the last couple of days before NSD.

Jaquelin Roy CBd to LSU by an FSU mod and an MSU mod today.

Hank (BOL) says he's not ready to place a CB pick for Roy. He wants to wait and see if Roy visits Bama right after July 23rd, the last day of the July dead period.

Prior to announcing his July 26th commit date, Roy had said he would visit Bama again before he made a decision. However, the notion that he's already decided to recommit to LSU on July 26 seems to be gaining steam.

Elias Ricks will play at IMG Academy
(247Sports | embedded video)
quote:

Former Santa Ana (Calif.) Mate Dei defensive back Elias Ricks will play his senior year at Bradenton (Fla. ) IMG Academy.

It was no secret Ricks was likely headed out of state to play his senior year of football. He transferred out of Mater Dei in order to be able to graduate early so he could take part in Spring Practice at LSU.

After mulling different options including skipping his entire senior year all together and enrolling a year early, Ricks has made the decision to head to IMG.

“There have been a lot of rumors for at least two years about me playing at IMG but this time, it’s actually true, “ Ricks said. “I’m excited about the opportunity, being at IMG will give me the opportunity to transition to see what college and dorm life is like.

“I will be able to enroll early for college right after the season, which was an academic priority for me. Since I’m planning to play college ball in the SEC, this is going to be a good opportunity for me to practice and play against top players from all over the country.”

Ricks played against IMG last year at Mater Dei in what was one of the games of the last few years.

“Playing against IMG last year was the most challenging football experience that I have had,” Ricks said. “I had to give everything I had on every single play. This is what I will need to be ready to handle in the SEC and I can’t wait!

“I’m blessed to be in this position and feel like God keeps using me to do wondrous things. It was tough leaving Mater Dei when I did but leaving my California home and family was really not a tough decision for me because I was already planning on doing that anyway and I’m really excited about this opportunity.”

Ricks is currently rated the No. 16 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite and No. 9 by 247Sports as well as the top rated corner in the country. He had a huge junior year where he picked off nine passes, returning six for touchdowns and helped the Monarchs win their second straight CIF, State and National Championship.

He still plans to take all five of his official visits, despite his commitment to LSU and has dates locked in with Ohio State and USC. Alabama will get an official visit as well and he's keeping that 5th one open. He told us last week at The Opening Finals it will take something major; i.e., a coaching change, to get him to flip from his commitment to LSU.

2021 5-star OLB Donell Harris 6-4/210 FL hudl

Harris has updated his top 5, replacing Clemson with LSU.

...Top 5 | The CountDown | “May the Lord Heavenly Father Guide Me”...Final List !!

Harris is working on graduating HS early and reclassifying to 2020. Per a BOL poster, the “Big3Rollup” podcast (covers Miami/FSU/UF) said Harris is old for his grade and will be ineligible for the last part of his senior season due to turning 19. According to Hank and insider posters, Bama really likes him and vice versa. But with 4 OLBs already committed and other needs, I don't see how there's room for him in the 2020 class.
