Could we win the conference tournament? Yes. And I'm rooting for this. Someone has to win it.
But, honestly I fear Oats isn't worrying about the conference tournament because he feels it's really all about the NCAA tournament. I really wish he would push his team hard for this for, IMO, a conference tournament title would offer some redemption for this collapse over the past couple of weeks.

I know it is frustrating when we don't get close to our potential, but Oats will get better. He's still early on the learning curve for big time BB.

I'm not so sure you'd rather have the SEC tourney over a good run in the NCAA tourney, if the latter came at the expense of the former. That is, if not winning the SEC could allow for rest and a deeper run into march/April.

Pretty sure you'd be happier with an Elite 8 run over an SEC tourney title. The former would bring better players than an SEC tourney title. Erybody loves recognition on the biggest stage.
