she resigned for family reasons. How do you know she was forced to leave. Fact it happened 1 month after the season tells me it was her decision otherwise she would have been canned right away

If it was her decision then nothing more be said than wishing her good luck. Unfortunate circumstance for her, she was possibly on the cusp of great achievements.

Next year we might have had a chance to go all the way.

Who says we still don't? Did we lose many/any recruits due to the resignation?

He won a national championship as a head coach at Ill but is leaving there to be an assistant at UA? Interesting.

Interesting

Agreed. Also interesting that he, Ashley and the new volleyball coach were all there too. Not sure how lucrative the men’s gymnastics coaching gig is and perhaps the tax burden in Illinois made it an easier choice than it would seem on the surface. I’m wondering if he saw a brighter future in coaching women’s gymnastics and decided to use this opportunity as a stepping stone toward that. All just random musings at this point.

Was reading on the Illini site, there are only 12-13 men’s gymnastics programs left (vs 80+ women’s programs?). The thinking up there is that he (Justin Spring) is using this opportunity to move over to the women’s sport.
