Doesn’t matter but: We still have the 4th best odds to win the CFB Playoff.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but the money still says this team is better than LSU and the other fan bases who are dog piling us right now. I know it might be dumb, but made me feel a little better knowing that level-headed analysis is still we’re Uber-talented and can beat anyone. But damn my eyes told me a different story yesterday so who knows.
ETA: I know yesterday proved we could lose to ANYONE as well, so this is definitely the worst form of sunshine pumping, but oh well.

History indicates that this is par for the course for DeBoer. His teams play poorly against poor opposition and great against great opposition. In his first season at Washington, they lost to an Arizona State team that finished 3-9 with their only other wins over Northern Arizona and Colorado. Washington then won out the season, beating both Oregon and Texas in the process. Last season on their run to the title, Washington had multiple near losses to bad teams but also handled Oregon twice and beat Texas yet again. We've already seen this in his first four games at Alabama with the win over Georgia and over a pretty decent Wisconsin sandwiched between awful performances against USF and Vanderbilt.
Possibly Saban's most unique trait as a coach was his ability to get the team up for bad opponents. He of course had that streak of a hundred wins in a row over unranked teams. We all remember that he coached much harder and became visibly irate in those games. For most coaches, even elite ones, this is a huge problem. Famous coaches like Pete Carroll and Urban Meyer frequently would take losses to unranked opponents in the midst of otherwise great seasons. We've seen it happen in the last few years to hyped coaches like Kiffin, Heupel, and Sarkisian. Being able to take these games totally for granted is probably quietly the biggest way we were spoiled by Saban. Even then, it started to become an issue in the last three years under Saban with all the near disasters in these games.
DeBoer needs to get this figured out to take the next step as a coach. Until that happens, get used to these schizophrenic showings week to week.

Shouldn’t shock anyone.
Alabama is in very good position to win the NC.

I just want wins over LSU, Tennessee, and most of all Auburn at this point.
