He has chosen the appeasement path and some of that was to keep the roster from leaving. Going to a struggle to walk it back a little. JMO but college coaching is now more like NFL coach in that hard azz approach doesn't work there either.

The player recruiting pool is full of pricks and it is only going to get worse.

As a fan you're going to have to adjust or be miserable much more often.

Deboer inherited a bunch of spoiled rich babies who paint their nails & care more about their t-shirt sales than being embarrassed by Vandy.

Kalen DeBoer inherited what every other playoff contending program in this country inherited. A roster filled with professional athletes, and the sport of college football is going to have to learn to treat them as such, and that includes the fans.

Personally, I'm ok with that. The fundamental problem though is right now, their compensation isn't performance based, and they can apply for and get better paying job whenever they want.

Don’t really care what he says at this point. It’s what you do now that matters.

As Saban as always said, don’t waste a failure.

Yesterday was one of the biggest failures in Alabama history. You can either man up and learn from it and fix the issues, or whither away and lose the season, the team and the fans.

This offense plays much better at tempo. We score fast with big plays. I think we need to gamble a ton on defense. The other teams are going to score anyway, let them do it fast to get our offense back out there. Maybe we can force a punt with a big play if we gamble.

Does anyone feel like deboer has given the players too much control? Just a thought

I feel like Deboer is wanting to be their best friend and their coach.....and imo you can only be 1 or the other.

Now I understand that you want a coach that any player can come and talk to..and I agree....but....as a coach you have to keep it "professional" and I get the feeling it's not like that with this team and staff.

For sure. I'd much rather he recruit 3* players and go 8-4 every year.

Or force turnovers like they did with Beck.

If the offense nis going to be Big Risk, Big Reward, let the defense take the same mantra. frick it at this point.

Hopefully recruiting will take care of that. Better to have a 3 star with their head on straight than a five star diva.

After watching the 2nd half of the UGA game + 4qtrs of the Vandy game, Bama could very well finish 8-4 with a roster full of 5 *****'s.

ETA: I see you were talking about Michigan beating Washington not overall like I originally thought.

Michigan was 14th in talent composition according to 247 sports. Just 2 guys on that team were 5* coming out of college. Alabama at no.1 (18 which were 5*) and Texas at no.6 (9 5*) were the only top 10 teams in talent rankings that made the playoffs.
