Yep, it was mostly “see if Ridley’s open or chuck it out of bounds” with Hurts during his freshman year.

Jalen Hurts was the QB. That's how that's explained.

Foster showed signs while at Bama and you could tell the guy was talented. People forget that he was starting before the collarbone injury, then Calvin broke out and had a great year.

Go back and look at Mullaney's highlights before coming to Bama and look at his play at Bama
Mullaney didn’t play with Jalen, he was a senior in 2015. I assume you mean Gehrig Dieter.

And sophomore year against quality defenses.

I honestly couldn't remember the guy he was talking about. He is a pro player that was barely drafted and almost cut his first year, that is in no way a stud.

Foster never was the same after the injury early in the 2015 season. But you could tell in the Wisconsin game that he was in store for a special season. His injury paved the way for the rise of Calvin Ridley. Much like how Chris Black's injury in fall camp back in 2012 paved the way for Amari Cooper.

I know who you are on the old scout.com bamamag site. I always enjoyed the YouTube links there and now I appreciate your stuff here too. You are a solid poster.

Hurts was take one look at the primary receiver, run towards the right sideline, and chunk it up in the stands. over and over and over. One major exception was against Ga in the SEC championship game he rolled right and threw the ball to the back of the end zone. Touchdown Alabama.
