Our secondary now consists of nothing but corner backs and Harrison. They all can play in space and can hit, hard. Now we all know the success of the secondary has a lot to do with the front 7, but do any of you think that this fielding pretty much all corners is the new way secondaries will look? I like it because it adds so much versatility on the field. Next year we are going to have all 5*s on the field in the secondary. Wow!

Burgess-Becker was/is a true safety.

Harrison is too, but I think Saban is going to move towards having more long, rangy corners

Tony Conner, Rico McGraw & CJ Hampton were safety-type recruits that we have missed on over the past couple of cycles.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, Minkah was brought in as a possibly hybrid and Rico was being targeted for a similar role, but Tony and CJ were safeties all the way.

Now this may be a new perspective for Saban, especially with the success we are seeing, and with the shift away from traditional power sets, but I still think we target and recruit true safeties.

In hindsight, i think Mag or ABDIW mentioned it before but a guy like John Fulton might have seriously benefited from a similar move during his career.
