DeBoer is a good enough coach to turn things around. The bottom line is he has to adjust his style. He’s way too loose with these players.
People keep saying this but have ZERO clue what is actually happening at practice and in that facility. Saban left him a bunch of undisciplined players. The ones that were really good left.
Im sure Deboer would do things differently if he had the chance, when your whole team has the chance to transfer away when you are hired, you cant just come in with an iron fist. Looking back...maybe it would have been worth it to lose some of these players and start with a fresh young roster and less expectations

And accountability? Discipline?? Etc? Some of yall have completely forgotten Saban’s 2007 year. Remember when Roy Upchurch and others got arrested on the Strip and the fricking police report mentioned Upchurch saying something like “eff, Saban.” Was Upchurch kicked off the team? Benched? Remember DJ Hall being suspended for a game and then Saban changed his mind because it was Homecoming? Courtney Upshaw getting physical with his GF? I mean, there are countless examples of Saban doing the exact opposite of what we fans thought a “tough, no nonsense coach” should do.
I remember all of this. The people that are bitching are soft and frankly just dont understand anything deeper than the kiddie pool. Theyve never played competitive sports and dont understand the kind of challenges a new coach has. Instead they make up some revisionist history as a means to bitch and complain

The sky is not falling chicken little.
Team took Vandy lightly, 19 times out 20 that still works, but Vandy has a qb that’s an assassin this year. Saban’s teams played down to competition at times too. Shouldn’t happen, but these are kids.
Milroe is what he is. When he can communicate with the line he’s better. On the road, particularly in loud environments he gets rattled.
The offensive line communication is poor, that’s something there’s no excuse for.
Defense is improving. I’m a bit encouraged there, but the secondary is still green and had guys running open that were missed.
If you’ve never seen anything like it, you can’t be over 30. Us old guys have.
The simple fact is Saban set expectations no other coach currently in the game not named Kirby Smart appears capable of right now. I’ll bet you that changes too since his staff will be the prime place to look for assistants to hire away from him now.
The landscape has changed. Time you learned to change with it. I’ve survived the GOAT coach being replaced before and the program being average for a while. You will too.
DeBoer may be the guy who can replace a GOAT and do well. At this point there’s no way to know, and especially if you expected us to be dominant again this year, realize NOBODY is.

I would have more level of concern if the same issues were not happening under Saban the last few years.
Penalties, Too many negative plays, 3 and outs, bad secondary play, etc.
Not sure how it gets fixed but I don't get KDBs paycheck.
These issues are not new this year.
