The 2026 cycle remains unique given the lack of top prospects that remain uncommitted heading into the fall. It’s been well-documented to this point that the cycle is ahead of schedule, but the numbers still look staggering.
As of Aug. 26, just five of the 400 blue-chip prospects in the 2026 cycle — according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies — are still uncommitted. This month has already seen each of the final three uncommitted five-stars come off the board, leaving little meat left on the bone.

Ruffin should be a priority, IMO. Can't have too many quality DT/DE types.

Alabama offers Maryland safety commit Khmari Bing
Khmari Bing Highlights
quote:
Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star safety Khmari Bing is the longest-tenured commit in Maryland’s 2026 class. He chose the local Terrapins on on Aug. 5 last summer.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder has kept his recruitment open and kept contact with other programs since, though. On Tuesday evening, he added a notable offer from Alabama.
The Crimson Tide have tapped into the Maryland high school football powerhouse already this cycle as it landed a huge commitment from St. Frances five-star safety Jireh Edwards last month. It could now make a push for Edwards’ teammate at the same position.
Bing checks in as the No. 97 safety and No. 27 player in Maryland this cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 1,078 overall prospect.

Not a believer in those figures. There are some perennial top teams not on that list. Most notably the team who won it all last year with the most expensive roster.
