I agree with that all the reporting would indicate they could stick as a package deal. As I said everyone says that until they aren't. Rarely do you have a situation where both guys are going to get strong NIL offers. I am not saying that they won't end up at the same school and will not take each other's decision into consideration, but at the end of the day the likely scenerio is they sit down with their own families, look at the options on the table and make the decision that is best for them independently. I still think they both end up at Bama cause that would be the best for either of them package deals or not (I'm biased ), but a last minute NIL deal (for example, could be any number of reasons) can change plans on them going to school together quickly. The only package deals I believe you can really put much stock in is siblings of they have enough talent to get offers from the same programs.

Smith left Auburn after a few hours, saying things are harder now

I just don’t think we’ve ever seen a “package deal” like this before. Maybe I’m wrong. I mean they’ve gone through the entire process together. I’m sure their families have sat down together this whole time. I guess if one is dead set on going to one school and the other isn’t that could change things, which could explain one going on this last visit without the other, but usually these package deals are busted up by now

Of course they are harder ; that’s why they asked you to visit. Hahaha. They upped the jackpot, more than likely for both.

Going to say this:

It seems like Freeze and AU were all in on Smith + other recruits/transfer targets today. Smith and co. visited the new facility and heard all the stuff they wanted to hear. Auburn's staff is very confident that they can bag him and is trying to make it as hard as possible for Bama to get him. In his own words Smith says:
quote:

“It went good,” Smith said. “Made it a lot more harder but it went good.”

Russaw was in Montgomery and might have been in Auburn, might have not. Auburn is banking that if they can secure Smith, they'll get Russaw as well. We have some work to do before they commit on signing day.

I think Russaw/Smith are both Bama bound, don’t really see the whole NIL deal working for Auburn as some believe.

Coming from a couple people I know who have watched them play at Carver, Russaw has a high motor plays every play. Smith has been known to take plays off from time to time. TIFWIW.

And for all we know it harder because Russaw has already decided on Auburn and why he did not go and now Smith after the red carpet treatment and his team mate looking to land there is like maybe I should follow as well.

Again just playing devil's advocate like everyone else and I really have no clue.

OR it could just be the opposite. They might have decided to go to Alabama and the new deals offered by Barners have complicated things

In the end it does not matter. They will suit up for UA or not in the future. If NIL was the factor that sends them elsewhere than we either step up our game or get left behind.

I would wager though with the level of our current class we are playing the game very well. So all these they are out biding or whatever excuse people are coming up with to deal with why a player may not pick us is someone trying to cope with it and deflect the reality that not everyone wants to play for UA.

We may be playing the NIL game somewhat (we have a lot of legitimate advantages to offer besides NIL), but inevitably on some players we will be out NIL'ed. We were clearly interested in Nico Iamaleava (sic) that went to Tennessee, for instance, but if Tennessee really paid him the NIL that was rumored, that was just too much for us to pony up for one player. Yes, some people aren't interested in Bama. But, barring legacy players, if someone chooses Auburn over Alabama right now, you can pretty much be assured it was NIL.

Got some info that both of the big Alabama collectives will pony up next Tuesday night.

Particularly Paul Bryant Jr. He’s apparently about to get involved to lock down the 3 big 5 stars left on the board.

Yeah. One of the strength and conditioning assistants I talk to occasionally got some info on it from Ellis Ponder. Ponder went to our HS. Fairhope

It’s Ricks or Brown. Not both from my understanding.

Haven’t heard much with the TE

Granted all I know is that we are throwing 7 figures at the five stars.
