Having Sayin as a 4-star is laughable.

21) Cameron Coleman | WR | Central (Ala.)

247Sports rank: 5-star | 98 rating | No. 21 Overall | No. 7 WR
Recruitment status: Undecided
Top schools (VIP): Alabama | Auburn | Clemson | Florida | Florida State | Georgia | LSU | Texas A&M
247Sports Crystal Ball: No predictions
Measurables: 6-3 | 175
High School: Phenix City (Ala.) Central
The Skinny: Coleman will visit Auburn on Thursday and Hugh Freeze and the new Tigers staff are one of the programs coming at him the hardest. Florida State is another school that is recruiting Coleman extremely hard and a recent visit to the Seminoles campus impressed as well. Other contenders range from Alabama, to Clemson to Georgia to LSU and Coleman mentioned Texas A&M and Florida as two others in the picture.

247Sports Rankings Outliers: 2024 prospects we like more than the industry

quote:

OT JACQAWN MCROY (UNCOMMITTED)

247Sports Ranking: No. 63 overall, No. 3 OT

Next-Highest Ranking: Unranked, No. 39 OT

It appears to be a pretty down cycle for blue-chip offensive tackles, but Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville’s JacQawn McRoy remains a favorite inside the 247Sports’ scouting department. He’s a mammoth of a human that’s tipping the scales somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-foot-8, 365 pounds. McRoy will need to keep properly managing his weight if he wants to reach his full potential, but his ability to extend the arc that pass rushers must run in hopes of getting home is super unique (picture a high school three-point line all of the sudden meeting NBA standards). McRoy, who had the longest reach of anyone at a loaded Under Armour Camp outside of Atlanta last month, just visited Clemson.

Ten rankings risers in the overhauled Top247 for 2024

quote:

5-STAR EDGE JORDAN ROSS (UNCOMMITTED)

New Top247 Ranking: No. 12

Previous: No. 81

One of the most intriguing edge defenders in the country, two-sport athlete Jordan Ross possesses arguably the highest ceiling of any pass rusher in the country. Verified at 6-foot-4 and more than 210-pounds, Ross’ unique arsenal of length, speed and athleticism are traits that simply cannot be taught.

Far from a finished product on the field, the Birmingham (Ala.) native proved last month at the Under Armour Combine in Atlanta that he’s only scratching the surface of his potential. Although Ross’ on-field production has yet to match his bubbling athleticism off the edge, the Vestavia Hills standout certainly doesn’t lack top 32 staying power at a position where physical traits are valued at a high degree.

5-STAR WR CAMERON COLEMAN (UNCOMMITTED)

New Top247 Ranking: No. 21

Previous: No. 189

As we alluded to earlier, one of the positional strengths of the 2024 Top247 is at wide receiver. Although there are a lot of intriguing wide outs, the additions of prospects like: Bryant Wesco, Cameron Coleman and Mylan Graham add another layer of depth to the board.

In the case of Cameron Coleman, there’s no debating the Central High School standout’s physical clay. Standing at over 6-foot-3 and 180-pounds, Coleman recently registered a sub 4.50 40-yard dash and almost an 11-foot broad jump during this off-season’s combine circuit.

Although the testing numbers are certainly something to write home about, it was Coleman’s performance in Atlanta at the Under Armour Combine that was most notable. Using his size, speed and athleticism to his advantage, Coleman is a walking mismatch that can stress opposing defenses in a variety of ways. A linear threat in the passing game, the Alabama native will need to continue to polish up his route running ability. But outside of Bryant Wesco, you’re going to be hard pressed to find a more physically impressive prospect in the country.

Perry Thompson on his commitment status:

“I would say we’re back at 100 percent right now,” Thompson told BamaInsider on Tuesday. “I went up there, and talked with Coach Saban and Coach [Holmon] Wiggins. Back at 100 for right now, but I’ll still take some visits.”

How fast is Alabama commit and reigning Mr. Football winner Ryan Williams?

The Saraland sophomore won the 100-meter dash at the Jim Tate Relays in Mobile last week with a time of 10.68 seconds, the fastest time in the state so far during the outdoor season.

Williams also won the 300-meter dash with a time of 34.80 seconds and won the high jump with a leap of 6-feet, 8 inches. His high jump ties for the best jump in the outdoor season so far.

I like how we stand with:

5* George MacIntyre, QB
5* Mike Matthews, WR
5* KJ Bolden, S
5* Micah Hudson, WR

I do like how our WR recruiting is going so far early in this cycle. Putting a big emphasis on that first is what I agree with. Bama is Wide Reciever U and it's good to see us trying to get the best of the best in the WR department.

Auburn's becoming more of a threat in recruiting with Freeze and will challenge us for the best of the best in AL and GA. Freeze wants to one-up Bama (duh), and he's doing a good job at that. They're gonna keep giving him the NIL and he's selling his vision to our targets. We don't have anything to sell to recruits though so the Barn has a long way up to climb.

Things will get real spicy from A-Day all the way through November.

Matthews is going to go to the highest bidder and right now that’s Tennessee and Clemson.

Everyone feels good about Bolden. OSU, UGA, AU, and UA all think they’re at the top when he visits
