I remember when people on this board were more critical of Mack Wilson than Golding. Facts.

You've posted literally five times in a row and said nothing.

I remember how Mack Wilson looked under Pruitt and how he looked under Golding. And, how Henry T. looked under Pruitt at Tennessee and how he looked under Golding at Bama.
I remember Too'Too looking about the same at both programs.

I remember things much differently. Henry T looked like a stud at Tennessee on a far less talented defense and Mack looked like the second coming of Reuben Foster under Pruitt.

Now I must agree with this.
Everybody wanted Henry in Tuscaloosa because he was a tackling machine at Tennessee.
He's a lot better than what he showed on the field at times but you wouldn't know it because GOLDING has ruined a lot of these guys.

Has anyone else seen Sterling Dixon continually posting about Colorado on his IG story? He posted a text sent to Kevin Norwood from a Colorado coach about them coming to Colorado to win a NC with the eyes emoji. “Coach Prime” is a pain in the arse.

He had 205 tackles in his two years at Bama. 16.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks.
He had 140 tackles in his two years at UT. 12.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks.
But I am not arguing in favor of Golding, I am just arguing that our ILBs haven't been as talented as years past.

That's all I'm saying. Golding is worse than most of our fans realize.
Another thing. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Under a new and competent DC and ILB coach we have no idea how they will see the pecking order of ILBs. Lawson is no shoe-in to be a starter next season because I don't trust Golding to have properly coached, developed any of the ILBs.

That's fair. I don't think our ILBs under Golding were as bad as they appeared.

I don't believe anyone on our defense was as bad as they appeared in 2022.

Not bitter.
Only 1 LB drafted in first round (Evans in ‘18)…..at a school like Bama is a joke! Nick got lazy with the DC hire after Pruitt left and it’s been displayed by the product on the field. I certainly don’t know more than Nick, but I do know You can’t sign a high school all-American LB, put 20 lbs on him, play defense first year, then move him to RB because of injuries/depth in ‘21 , then move him back to LB for 22 season. The practice of LB’s (or lack of) at Bama practices are well known. If his knee surgery was a success, he’ll be a starter at his next school (AU or LSU) as they both recruited him hard.

If I’m not mistaken, Pruitt moved Rashan Evans to middle linebacker from primarily a third down edge rusher.
And Evans flourished.
A coaching change like this may see several people move to different positions. I would think, primarily in the secondary.

Believe it or not, I think Demouy is going to Ole Miss. At least that's the Twitter rumor.

Battle Miami Top Performers

On3 MVP: QB Julian Sayin – Alabama commit
The West Coast passer put together arguably the best Saturday during pool play, then came through time and time again during Elimination Sunday to advance Raw all the way to the final four. Julian Sayin, the On3 Consensus‘ No. 4 QB in the 2024 class, threw the ball with torque and was delivering strikes from the pocket for the length of the event.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder arrived in Miami with a thicker frame, and it showed as Sayin fired out the football and made good decision after good decision, a notable theme to the Carlsbad (Calif.) QB’s game. Sayin didn’t shy away from squeezing the ball into tight windows in the middle of the field or taking chances outside the numbers. He threw his receivers open and put some oomph on throws when necessary and dropped it in on other attempts. The ball flies out of Sayin’s hands, as the Alabama commit kicked the offseason off in compelling fashion.

5. CB Ellis Robinson
There are few cornerbacks who pass the eye test at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds quite like Ellis Robinson. The Consensus No. 1 cornerback in the country in the 2024 class was rarely tested during pool play action on Saturday, but came up with several big plays in coverage during Championship Sunday. The big-framed corner is sticky in coverage and is even more impressive closing in on the fotball. Robinson also has a massive wingspan and was pesky deflecting passes thrown his way or contesting catches in a significant way.
Robinson had a strong two days in coverage. Alabama slightly leads Georgia on the RPM the elite lockdown defensive back.

6. CB Charles Lester
Florida native Charles Lester was masterful in coverage from start to finish in this tournament working at cornerback on the outside. The Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview CB tabbed as the Consensus‘ No. 3 player at the position in 2024 went stride for stride with receivers in coverage and was especially productive in coverage in the middle of the field as well as keeping routes in front of him. Lester was electric closing in on passes and pesky for receivers throughout the route.
Lester flies to the football and uses his hands well, not to mention having great play recognition during in-game action. Alabama is the favorite on the RPM, but Florida and Florida State are both gaining ground with the elite corner.

7. ATH Daniel Hill
The majority of teams in pursuit of On300 Mississippi athlete Daniel Hill like him at running back, and he gave a compelling case for why offense is his forte at Battle Miami. The big-framed back who checks in at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds was dominating 50-50 balls in the middle of the field and in the end zone. The Meridian (Miss.) standout has serious ups and equally strong hands at that. Hill is a major threat in the passing game to compliment his physical running style.
After several visits to Tuscaloosa, Alabama leads the way on the RPM.

Glad he didn't say 100% or we would know he's going somewhere else.
