If he's class of 2025 maybe he's LDS and just got back from his mission? His last couple of posts on his Instagram do say he's committed. Odd indeed

Found a newspaper article from February about his recruitment:

Santa Margarita QB John Gazzaniga still waiting for his best college football opportunity

quote:

He is 6-foot-7, 230 pounds with a powerful arm. He possesses plenty of speed and quickness for a football player of his size. He is athletic, too, having been a starting forward for the school’s varsity basketball team.

Gazzaniga was an All-Trinity League second-team selection at Santa Margarita this past season when he completed 59 percent of his passes for 1,938 yards and 15 touchdowns with nine interceptions in 12 games and was the team’s second-leading rusher.

Andrew Bone says he's a preferred walk-on.

QB Jett Thomalla is taking an unofficial visit to Alabama next weekend.

ETA: Guess Grubbs likes Italian QBs.

My apologies if I missed it but has anyone seen a list of recruits visiting this weekend?

Tuesdays with Gorney: Ten recruiting storylines to follow this weekend

quote:

THOMALLA ON FLIP WATCH

Four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla committed to Iowa State in mid-April but less than a month later, Alabama came through with an offer and now the Omaha (Neb.) Millard South standout is headed to Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Thomalla loves coach Matt Campbell and the opportunity in Ames and there is some consideration that Alabama just landed five-star quarterback Keelon Russell last recruiting cycle but the Crimson Tide could be tough to turn down.

CAN ALABAMA MAKE A MOVE WITH TOP RECRUITS?

Beyond Thomalla’s visit, it’s a huge weekend in Tuscaloosa. Four-star defensive end Nolan Wilson will be there and Alabama is the front-runner. Four-star safety Jett Washington has Alabama and Oregon battling it out. Four-star running back KJ Edwards changed his visit schedule to get to Alabama before a decision although Texas could be tough to beat.

Five-star receiver Boobie Feaster will be in town as Texas A&M has surged to the top with LSU. A whole host of elite defensive linemen will be headed to Alabama, which has only five commitments right now but this weekend could go a long way to adding some elite names.

Predictions: Where the top five uncommitted RBs will land

quote:

Ezavier Crowell

It would be an absolute shocker if the four-star running back from Jackson, Ala., does not commit to Alabama on his June 26 commitment date.

Texas has worked hard to stay involved with Crowell. Auburn keeps working on him and his teammate four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth. Georgia is also in the picture.

But the Crimson Tide have led for a long time here and that has not seemed to change in recent weeks.

Crowell reclassified from 2027 to 2026 and Alabama has always led. That should remain the same heading into his decision.

Prediction: Alabama

Predictions: Where the top five uncommitted WRs will land

quote:

Cederian Morgan

Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Colorado and Clemson are the top six for the five-star receiver from Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell as the Crimson Tide have been considered the front-runner for some time.

Morgan recently had a good visit to Colorado but coach Deion Sanders wasn’t there because of an emergency so that seems like a stretch. The five-star is at Georgia this weekend and if it sells a George Pickens-type future for him then that could be interesting, but Alabama has led for so long. He lives less than an hour away from Auburn so maybe a late surge there, but the Crimson Tide lead ahead of a July 2 decision.

Prediction: Alabama

Fong said he has Oregon leading right now, right?

Plenty of future college stars, current college coaches at Jackson, MGM spring game

quote:

Ezavier Crowell had a relatively quiet night, but did score on an 11-yard run.

“I’m not saying we’ll always be able to compete with teams like this, but we can right now,” said Jackson coach Cody Flournoy, whose team has played Theodore, Fairhope and MGM in spring games the last three years.

The Aggies rolled to 14 straight wins last year after a close opening loss at Saraland. Jackson opens next season with games against Saraland, Demopolis, Escambia County and Baker.

Crowell wore Alabama sweatbands on both wrists.

“I like just about everything about Alabama,” he said. Crowell is also considering Texas, Auburn, Florida State and Georgia.
