Perfectly safe if you know the proper technique (just like with everything in a gym).
His strength coach is trying to mimick the hit and drive motion on the sled.
It would be easier and more effective if they had a front squat machine and did the front squat then pressed the machine handles (same driving motion) to finish.
They possibly couldn't afford one so this is the next best thing.

Mwikuta's head coach, Tanner Glisson, says the UA commit spent a lot of time with new defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi. Alabama wide receivers coach Josh Gattis is now Mwikuta's primary recruiter.
At 6-foot-4, 232 pounds, Mwikuta is rated the No. 4 outside linebacker and the No. 78 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings.
Mwikuta committed to Alabama on December 15, his birthday.

Alabama zeroing in on JUCO DL in 2018 class (BamaOnLine-VIP)
DT Tevita Musika 6-2/330 (JUCO/CA) hudl
As a member of the Milpitas (CA) 2015 class, Tevita Musika had an offer from Hawaii, but waited a semester before starting junior college at Foothill (CA). In Jan-2017, he transferred to College of San Mateo.
Musika plans to visit Alabama sometime this month. If he gets the OK from Bama to commit then, it seems likely from his remarks that he will, although Texas A&M has also offered now.
Musika's eligibility is 3 years to play 2 seasons, and he can enroll this summer. Last season, he had 42 tackles, 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

I suppose this means the coaches are already aware of an early departure that will keep us under 85?

There is a dude walking around inside the Millbrook Wal-Mart with a pullover that says "I don't need sex. The government fricks me every day."

Lol@ them listing Musika at 300. That's about like when Bama listed Mount Cody somewhere around 340 when he arrived on campus (when he was well over 400). There might have been a time when he (Musika) was 300 this past year, but it certainly wasn't in that picture listed.

Hank South said 247/BOL only has his old HS info (for now). Musika's hudl info says 6-2/330. So, I'm going with that (edited my post above).

I was always thin. I was really thin in high school. The heat never bothered me, but the big guys would drop like flies.
