If Will Reichard busts when he gets to Alabama, we should start going for 2 every TD and go for it on 4th down inside the 35 every time. Because that tells me that it’s an outside phenomena we can’t control and should adjust accordingly.

Latham has ability on both sides of the football but has expressed to Saban and company a desire to line up on defense, where he could eventually play multiple roles in the Alabama front.

Let's hope he has more success than the last guy we signed out of that part of the state.

Countdown begins: 10 things to know for the Early Signing Period
quote:
Believe it or not, college football’s second-ever Early Signing Period (Dec. 19-21) is now just a month away. While the first Wednesday in February will always have a special place in our hearts, this period is essentially the new signing day — last year, 80 percent of committed prospects signed, and 65 percent of the entire class came off the board.
We now have an idea what to expect, but it still seems like we’re in for several surprises one month out.
Here are 10 storylines to follow. The 247Sports Composite ranking is used in parenthesis.

5-STAR BATTLES
Kayvon Thibodeaux (2) will announce his college decision Dec. 15, settling a recruitment that could still go several different ways. Oregon seems to have momentum following an official visit the weekend of Oct. 13. But you can’t rule out Alabama and Florida State, who had Thibodeaux on campus for officials in September.
Other five-stars we expect to sign in December include defensive end Zach Harrison (5), who could spurn the local Buckeyes in favor for Michigan or Penn State. Trey Sanders (6) is the nation’s top running back and he’s considered an Alabama lean, top-ranked inside linebacker Nakobe Dean (15) is looking at the Tide and Georgia among others, the nation’s No. 1 center Clay Webb (19) who could end up at Alabama, Clemson or Georgia and offensive tackle Evan Neal (25) is strongly considering Tuscaloosa, Miami and Florida State.

FLIP WATCH
Alabama, among others, will get a swing at trying to turn the nation’s No. 1 recruit Nolan Smith away from his long-time pledge to Georgia. The five-star defensive end/outside linebacker will take his official to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the Iron Bowl.
Other high-profile flip potentials include …
Tennessee’s pushing for Auburn five-star linebacker commit Owen Pappoe (12) ... the Crimson Tide are threatening Florida State for five-star cornerback Akeem Dent (30), Auburn receiver commit George Pickens (35) is flirting with FSU, Georgia, Alabama and LSU, among others ... Clemson’s making a run at Ole Miss running back pledge Jerrion Ealy (48) ... the Vols are working to try on Bama defensive end Justin Eboigbe (66) pledge … Florida State quarterback commit Sam Howell (83) is coming off an official visit to North Carolina ... Michigan’s hoping the Jeff Brohm rumors help it land Purdue defensive end commit George Karlaftis (78) … Ohio State safety commit Jordan Battle (95) is eyeing the Tide.

ALABAMA'S JUGGLING ACT
The Crimson Tide have already been mentioned plenty in this article. They currently have the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class as they work to finish with that distinction for the eighth time in nine years. Georgia snapped the run at the top last February and currently sit at No. 3 with Texas A&M sandwiched between the two.
What Saban and Alabama are working on this cycle could be the best class in the 247Sports Composite era. The Florida class in 2010 is the highest-scoring class of all time at 324.62. That was challenged the last two years with the Tide finishing at 323.87 in 2017 and Georgia closing at 323.31 in 2018.
Alabama sits at 290.39 right now with an exciting finish on tap. Guys we haven’t even mentioned yet for the Tide include Ishmael Sopsher (7) and Darnell Wright (11), who are likely to announce in February. And believe me, there’s a host of other Top247 names Alabama is in the mix with, too.
Play around with the Alabama class calculator and see the amazing potential this 2019 class has in Tuscaloosa.

... AND CAN ANYONE TOP THE TIDE?
Georgia would be the best bet.
Keep Nolan Smith in the fold. Beat Alabama for the likes of Webb and Dean. Reel five-star receiver Jadon Haselwood (4) back into the boat. Score a trio of Top100 defensive backs — safeties Tyrique Stevenson (37) and Nick Cross (No. 69) and cornerback Kaiir Elam (70) — and see where the dust settles.
Alabama is the heavy favorite to finish No. 1. The Bulldogs are the only program that appears to have a chance to threaten. The Aggies don’t have enough elite talents on the board to make a run.
