Remember he was a QB (moved to TE so Trevor Lawrence could be the all that QB)

He's had a single knee surgery and has been healthy otherwise?

I dont understand the rankings anymore.
Nolan is not a DE. He is an OLB.
The rankings are supposed to reflect first round picks. There is no way Nolan is the number one pick in the NFL draft down the road.
I watched IMG play a couple times dont recall seeing him do anything No.1 in the country level. No.1 in the country should pop off the screen at ya.
I get the feeling there is a lot of new money from the uga fans, and there is some ranking love going there way.
The ol Bama bump conspiracy gone wrong.

Like Ritchie Petitbon, that 1 injury just cost him a lot.
Up until that injury, he was getting rave reviews as a passcatcher...

Alfano makes big jump in 247Sports Rankings (BOL | embedded video)

quote:
Alabama defensive line commitment Antonio Alfano is now graded as a 5-star prospect according to 247Sports in the latest Top247 Rankings update. The Colonia (N.J.) product moves up from the No. 45 player in the country to the No. 8 spot after putting together a dominant — to say the least — senior season campaign.
Alfano amassed 76 tackles, including 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 17 QB hurries, 6 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, a blocked field goal and 3 pass breakups all in nine games. To go along with that, Alfano made major impact on offense tallying 46 pancake blocks.
“I’m just trying to go out there and give it everything I’ve got,” Alfano said earlier this season. “At the same time I’m trying to go out there and put things together, see what works for me, and try to prepare for the next level at Alabama.”
The East Coast standout has been the definition of “committed” since joining the class last May. Alfano shut down his recruitment and will only visit Tuscaloosa before signing and enrolling early.
“I’ve been hearing from a few other people like Georgia and Auburn, all Alabama’s rivals and stuff,” Alfano said earlier this season. “I’ve kindly told them I’d appreciate if they could take me off the distribution list as I’m already committed. Respectfully they did and I think they understand that I’m not choosing any other school besides Alabama.”

Alfano is planning to return to the Capstone for the Iron Bowl on his official visit, a weekend that will see a number of the Tide’s top targets and commits on campus for the regular season finale.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder joins a stout defensive line class — all of which are represented in the Top247 — that includes Byron Young, Justin Eboigbe, DJ Dale, and Braylen Ingraham.
Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class ranks No. 1 in the nation, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
Alfano is excited to get to Tuscaloosa in January after playing in the 2019 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
“They’re the best football program in the country,” Alfano said of what he’s looking forward about joining the Tide. “You say Alabama football and everyone’s like damn. All I gotta say is I’m going to Alabama to play football and everyone is like you must be the real deal then.
"Everyone knows there are no Jo Shmo’s that go there. I’m just excited with the way they play and the way they coach. I’m just ready to get there and dedicate everything I have for them for the next three to four years. Hopefully it turns out the way I would like it to.”

Justin Eboigbe

Alabama sits with the No. 1-ranked class in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings, with 21 commitments. And fifteen of those pledges are among the Top247 Rankings, which rolled out its latest update on Tuesday. Here’s a look at the notable changes.
Of course, the most notable move is Antonio Alfano earning his fifth star and moving to the No. 8 player in the class, up from No. 45. Alfano has put together a dominant senior season, tallying 76 tackles, including 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 18 quarterback hurries, 6 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, a blocked field goal and 3 pass breakups, all in nine games. To go along with that, the now 247Sports 5-star prospect made a major impact on offense tallying 46 pancake blocks. Alfano will play in the All-American Bowl in January.

Moving along, Alabama’s defensive line class is making some moves in the latest update.
Despite a tough year for his team, 4-star defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe flashed on Forest Park (Ga)’s defensive front. Eboigbe is now the No. 53 player in the country up from No. 166. The Peach State native is still being pursued by several big-time programs despite his pledge, and for good reason.
Byron Young has eclipsed the Top100 and is in at No. 90 in the nation. The Laurel (Miss.) West Jones native has been a resident in opposing defenses’ backfields, racking up 98 tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, and 13.5 sacks on the season. Young will cap off his high school career in the All-American Bowl in January.
Braylen Ingraham, a South Florida standout, makes his Top247 debut in at No. 174. The St. Thomas Aquinas defender missed a few games with injury earlier this season, but has showed a lot of promise on a loaded Raiders defense.
Last but not least, DJ Dale maintains his Top247 standing in at No. 223. The Clay-Chalkville (Ala.) standout has flashed on both sides of the ball for the Cougars. Last week Dale recorded an interception in a playoff win.

At the quarterback spot, All-American Taulia Tagovailoa is in at No. 118 in the nation after guiding the Thompson Warriors on an impressive run for the second straight season. Tagovailoa has passed for 3,026 yards and 29 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Tagovailoa’s Warriors and Paul Tyson’s Hewitt-Trussville Huskies face off for a rematch of their thrilling meeting late last month that came out in favor of Thompson. This time it’s the playoffs.
Other Tide pledges in the Top100 include Pierce Quick at No. 67, Amari Kight at No. 91, Kevin Harris at No. 94, and Brandon Turnage at No. 99. All four are playing in the Under Armour All-American Game and will be closely watched in the weeks to come for further evaluations.
The remainder of Alabama’s pledges within the Top247 include DeMarcco Hellams at No. 133, King Mwikuta at No. 142, Christian Williams at No. 152 and Shane Lee getting a boost up to No. 159 having previously occupied the No. 186 spot. Last but not least, versatile 4-star offensive lineman Tanner Bowles is in at No. 175.
Evaluations are ongoing and have yet to be finalized, so keep it locked on BamaOnLine for all the rankings updates and news as the 2019 class works closer towards National Signing Day.
Note: The article states all of the upward moves in the rankings, but it doesn't mention any of the downward moves.
