Interesting on Pickens. Assume it is grade related or is he just picking someone out of conference?

Siaki Ika is no longer taking an OV to Alabama for the Iron Bowl.
He re-scheduled it for December 15th. You know, right before the Early Signing Day.

Keilan Robinson is the future of Alabama’s backfield
Sounds like Robinson is going to be fine.

quote:
2019 running back, Keilan Robinson, has all the tools and the potential to be a great Alabama running back.
Robinson announced his commitment to the Tide in June. He became the Tide’s only running back commit and has remained so.
The list of Alabama running backs that played under Saban is nothing short of iconic. Derrick Henry and Mark Ingram had legendary careers and brought Alabama their only two Heisman trophies. Kenyan Drake, T.J. Yeldon, Eddie Lacy, Glen Coffee, Bo Scarbrough, and Trent Richardson also had their fair share of success. The Tide’s current running back corps looks like they will also keep the tradition going with their impressive stable.
Throughout the Tide’s legendary run, they have often featured multiple running backs with contrasting styles. This strategy keeps the defense on their feet at all times. Robinson has his own unique running style and it could fit right in with Alabama’s high octane offense.
The 4-Star recruit stands at 5-feet-9-inches and weighs 184 pounds. He is a tenacious runner with a ton of speed. His ability to make plays in the open field with his wide array of juke moves and sharp cuts gives defenders fits and makes it very hard to get hands on him.
College football has changed dramatically over the last couple of years. Quarterbacks are ready to come in and sling the ball earlier than ever. This often has a negative effect on how many rushing attempts a back gets, which has caused many of them to focus their attention on becoming more of a weapon in the passing game.
Robinson has experience at doing just that. He is a great route runner out of the backfield and has a great pair of hands. His ability to be a weapon in the passing game allows him to catch the ball in the open field and make plays.
St. John’s is expected to have Robinson back inside their game plan for Friday when they take on Gonzaga High School in a playoff game. He has been in limited action this season.
Alabama would love to add 5-Star running back, Trey Sanders, to this class and create a tandem of the future with Robinson. But if Sanders chooses another school over Alabama, the Tide would be grateful that they have a guy like Robinson committed.
Sounds like Robinson is going to be fine.

Sanders sees 5-stars turning into monsters at Alabama (BOL-VIP)
Trey Sanders, after his All American ceremony: “They’re a different breed, man. Najee is Najee, but like Jerry Jeudy and everybody that went there who were 5-stars, Alabama turned them into monsters. Instead of them falling off in college, they took their talent and ran with it.”

Darnell Wright recruiting update ahead of Kentucky game (VolsWire)

quote:ETA: Wright's team won their playoff game.
Tennessee 2019 offensive line target Darnell Wright from Huntington High School in Huntington, W. Va., is set to play in the first round of the playoffs tonight.
Huntington High School assistant coach Willie Wilson discussed Wright’s season with Vols Wire.
“He had a little shoulder issue around the fifth game, but everything is resolved and fine,” Wilson said. Wright did not miss any games and had a MRI done to be cautious.
“He has had some pretty good games,” Wilson said. “When he wants to take control, he can take control and pretty much the line of scrimmage is his.”
Huntington is playing Cabell Midland in the first round of the playoffs, a team that they lost to 21-7 three weeks ago.
The 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman could be visiting Tennessee for the Kentucky game and his playoff game tonight could factor in if he makes the trip to Knoxville.
Indications point towards Wright visiting UT if Huntington loses, and a playoff win could keep Wright in West Virginia to focus on the next playoff opponent.
With the Early Signing Period kicking off December 19-21, it remains unclear if he will sign in December or wait until February with him likely not being an early enrollee.

Guess I am not as high on Ika as others are. He moves good for that size but we have not had that size DL in a while . Payne was not THAT big. Maybe Cochran could do work with him but he has some bad weight
