Not recruiting related, but also not worth starting a thread about

Arkansas defensive coordinator John Chavis, who’s coached against Alabama 31 times, calls the Tide’s offense not only the best Bama O he’s seen, but “maybe the best offense I’ve coached against” — meaning of all teams he’s faced in his career.

Coach Saban has recently talked to 4-star CB/S Kenyatta Watson II. Bama is evaluating him and might offer. He says his commitment to Texas is solid, but that he'd seriously consider visiting if we offered. He's pretty close with his Loganville (Ga.) Grayson teammate Kevin Harris. His dad is a 7v7 coach (and semi-staffer at his HS) and is active in helping his 7v7 and Grayson kids with their recruitments.

Based on a lot of nuggets from Tim & Hank today and recent insider posts (BOL), here's my take on how Bama is likely to fill the 8 spots (subtracting Cheney) we have left:

RB - Trey Sanders
OG - Clay Webb
OT - Evan Neal or Darnell Wright
DT - Ishmael Sopsher
ILB - Nakobe Dean
ILB - Henry To'oto'o
OLB - Kayvon Thibodeaux
CB - Akeem Dent or Noa Pola-Gates

If Jarez Parks signed his NLI before Aug 1, 2017 (probably did) we may be able to take one more blue shirt -- perhaps WR George Pickens. Imo, that's a good way to approach his situation, in case he fails to qualify.

Anyone heard anything recently about 2020 recruits Justin Flowe and Sa'velle Smalls? I know Tosh is after both of them.

You really think we have a shite at Sopsher? I just can’t see it. Don’t think a 5 star receiver will blue shirt. Hope you are right on Sopsher. Hope everyone is right on Cheney bc we need all the D line recruits we can get and he looks good the few times I have seen him. Hope we not making a mistake on him even though he reminds me of a Dee Liner clone from several years ago

I see Pickens is a composite 4 star. My bad

Not really any recent news of significance on either one. We're in very good shape at this point with Smalls. Flowe is in the LA area and visits USC a lot. At this point, it appears Bama is his #2. He likes Helton, so if his seat gets really warm that could help us.

Thank you sir! He likes Helton? Let him like him because I think this is his last year at USC. Lynn Swann didn't hire that cat and Swann seems to have too much ego and too much Trojan in him to keep Helton around. I remember Helton was a WTF hire that Pat Haden made on his way out the door.
