LINK ]Best Available: Top 10 DTs still on the board (Rivals)
quote:

Nearly 75 percent of the Rivals250 in the class of 2019 were committed to college programs entering their senior year. That leaves a very small pool of potential prospects as programs gear up for the Early Signing Period, which starts on Dec. 19. This week we take a position-by-position look at the top prospects still on the board.

LINK ]Ishmael Sopsher, 5* #1 DT, Amite, LA

The No. 1 ranked prospect at the position remains on the board and he is not planning to come off any time soon because Sopsher wants to take this recruitment all the way down to the February signing period. This is thought to be an Alabama-LSU battle, but when Sopsher wanted to release a top five in late July he could not do it and instead named seven schools that also included Florida State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M.

LINK ]Faatui Tuitele, 4* #3 DT, Honolulu, HI

The top-end depth at defensive tackle is down from previous years, but there is a good collection of talent at the position out West, led by Honolulu’s Tuitele. He made his way to the mainland for several spring visits, after which Tuitele released a top five of Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Texas and Washington. Whether intentional or not, Tuitele’s top five includes one school from each of the Power Five conferences.

LINK ]Siaki Ika, 4* #5 DT, Salt Lake City, UT

Another top talent at the position from the western half of the United States, Ika is a massive zero-technique nose guard prospect with strength and quickness. He spent more than a year and a half committed to BYU, but decommitted last February and the Cougars are no longer in the running. A final eight of Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Utah and Washington was just released a couple weeks back and official visits are starting to be scheduled.

Winter Park, FL

Sorrells was not expected to be on this list just a few weeks ago. A late August commitment date had been discussed, but that timeframe came and went without any decision from the Florida four-star. Would that decision had gone for South Carolina? That was the prevailing wisdom, but it now looks like official visits will be taken with Alabama, Florida State and Oregon as the three prominent schools contending with the Gamecocks for Sorrells’ services.

There are just over three months between now and the Early Signing Period in December and about five months until National Signing Day in February. Uncommitted prospects will be hurrying to claim their spot in a school's 2019 recruiting class. Here is a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects in the West with predictions on where each will land.

LINK ]Kayvon Thibodeaux, 5-star #1 WDE,
Westlake Village, CA

Thibodeaux took his first visit of the fall to Florida State for its season opener against Virginia Tech and while the Seminoles lost, the five-star defensive end had a great time in Tallahassee. His relationship with coach Willie Taggart and some other coaches there will play a big role in his thinking. USC had slipped in a major way for Thibodeaux but he’s talked more with the coaches and could visit there soon. Alabama will get a trip for the upcoming Texas A&M game and then Oregon and Florida should receive visits as well. Whichever program can convince Thibodeaux it can develop him most for a possible NFL future should win out.

Prediction: Florida State

Things are a little less clear when it comes to Tuitele since he doesn’t give away many hints on which program stands out. But in May, the four-star defensive tackle did narrow it to five and that could be really telling. Alabama, Washington, Ohio State, Texas and Clemson made the cut for the top prospect in Hawaii and he’s had great relationships with the Washington coaching staff throughout his recruitment. Because Tuitele has not said much recently about which programs have the best chance of landing him, this one is a little more up in the air. The Huskies have been around for so long that they could be tough to overcome.

Prediction: Washington

LINK ]Henry To'oto'o, 4* #3 ILB, Concord, CA

Alabama, Tennessee, Oregon, Washington and Cal made the final five for To’oto’o in late August and this has basically become an SEC battle between the Crimson Tide and the Volunteers. The two assistant coaches recruiting To’oto’o are mainly Tosh Lupoi at Alabama and Kevin Simon at Tennessee – both De La Salle grads – and that could play a major factor as things move forward here. How many times has Tennessee beaten out the Crimson Tide for a top recruit that coach Nick Saban really wanted? It’s just a guess this early but Alabama usually gets whomever it wants.

Prediction: Alabama

I really hope we get kayvon and nakobe but I'll be happy with bogle and toooto. Bogle is probably close to being a 5 star but I love our 5 stars. Alot of them see the field often and early

Sean I hope you got somewhere safe and where you live stays intact. This storm is going to linger as it approaches the coast. Suppose to hit Wilmington dead on in the morning. Hell I live just outside of Chapel Hill and are now in Tropical Storm Warnings. Starting to regret buying a wooded lot on the side of the mountain because I did not want to see neighbors everyday.

It actually is. You would think we are in the middle of nowhere but only 8 miles from the center of the UNC campus. So can get to everything we need with ease. The issue here even in big thunderstorms the power goes out so not sure what will happen if we get winds around here in 70-80 range. They sent the students at UNC, Duke, and NC State home earlier this week.
