I know what they’ve said, but I’m still not sold.

It still begs the question how many slot wide receiver/all purpose back types do we plan to keep on the roster? I just don't remember us ever having this many guys in that mold on the roster before. Right now we have Jacobs, Ford, Waddle, Bolden, (you can include X. Marks too) and K.Robinson coming in. Then you may have W.Robinson coming in. I know that slot wr/apb aren't exactly the same position but they are all shifty guys who can catch the ball. I think it speaks to the evolution of our offense starting with Daboll and now continuing with Locksley.

I have a feeling Thibodeaux ends up at FSU. The kid is intrigued by HBCUs and was supposed to visit FAMU while in Tallahassee as well as FSU this weekend. I think FSU will win out because of its proximity to FAMU.

I’d like to see more big bodied WRs. But we only have one.

I know I’m in the small, small minority but I’d rather have the Alabama kid that wants to be in crimson. But yes, as far as talent Thibodeaux >>> Diabate.
I know Diabete is interested but he doesn't seem like a kid that Alabama is his dream school like say a Clay Webb. I am asking because I don't know, does his family have deep Alabama roots?

Diabate is Nigerian I believe and his father is a professor. If none of the schools like Stanford or Michigan are involved he'll likely go to Bama. I think we have more Nigerian kids coming in than I can remember.

Add RS freshman Chadarius Townsend to the list of young fast, elusive slot WR options we have on the roster. Spending one of our precious remaining spots in this class to take Wandale Robinson in lieu of addressing the much higher prioity needs we have would be a MAJOR head scratcher.

Stillman is in Tuscaloosa, Miles is right down the road and the Magic City Classic is in Birmingham. There is a huge amount of HBCU influence near us, plus we have our Historically Black Fraternities and Sororities and we are a manageable distance from Atlanta.

I agree. He’s not a bammer, but he’s educated on Alabama’s LB development. That’s my angle here. Plus he’s a brilliant kid.

Diabate was VERY high on Bama after his initial visit and it appears that he still is. He knows he needs development and talked like he really wants to get that from the best and put in the hard work required at Bama. I think he'd probably jump on board if Bama makes a push and gives him a green light. I think he's taking his time with his recruitment working on other options.

I realize that but that's not FAMU fam LOL FSU and FAMU are both known for their female students and partying. Just saying...The kid has Louisiana roots and he didn't bother to visit a HBCU here and Grambling is a better football program than FAMU.

If Thibodeaux comes South, it’s Alabama. But I don’t think he’s coming south.

I like his demeanor and personality a lot, I think it screams Bama LB under Nick Saban. But I'm not sold that he immediately jumps on board if given the green light. He plays it too close to the vest. I think our chances are about the same in regards to getting a commitment from him as it is for Thibodeaux, but I think our chances are better with Thibodeaux than most believe.

I actually think Thibodeaux is coming south. It's a reason USC wasn't after him. Now that may have changed recently.

Don't get me wrong, my cousin went to FAMU, I know the allure. It is known as the top party school of the HBCU's but he not picking FSU because of FAMU girls. If that was his reasoning he is going to USC. I appreciate what they do down there but it doesn't hold a candle to LA women. If that is where his mind is at, it is Trojans all the way.
On an aside, when I was looking at colleges I toured Stillman. At the time it had a 17:1 female to male ratio. That female to male ratio was one of the main reasons they started the now defunct football program in 99, to get more male students. My mother made it very clear I would not be attending Stillman.

I know Thibodeaux transferred from Dorsey High to Oaks Christian and Dorsey is one of the historic majority Black high schools in Los Angeles. I have a feeling the kid wants to leave the west coast and wants to be in an environment that is closer to Dorsey High than not. And, yes, Los Angeles has a lot of fine women but it's not a culturally affirming place for a Black kid like Tallahassee or even Tuscaloosa is.

I get what you are saying, but only one of the schools in his top 5 fits that mold. Seems like LSU and Georgia would be on his list if that is what he is looking for. We can agree to disagree on this one (I hate that phrase). I understand why you see that is a priority for him. From what I've seen of him I would think he would go to the schools that will allow him to achieve his personal football and professional goals, which look to me like USC and Alabama. But in recruiting I have been wrong before.

It’s almost a minority of one. If kids are of equal talent, take the Bama kid. If not equal you take the better player.
