2019 Targets

Jaquaze Sorrells, 4* DT, Largo, FL

2020 Targets
Robby Ashford, 4* QB, Hoover, AL
Camron Jackson, 4* DT, Haynesville, LA
Reggie Grimes, 4* OLB, Mt Juliet, TN
Jaylen Garth, 3* OL, Port Neches, TX
Jordan Banks, 3* OLB, Harbor City, CA

Notes: Momma is coming with Darnell Wright. Shane Lee and Darrian Dalcourt are teammates. Daxton Hill is not attending OU's weekend BBQ or doing anymore summer visits per his dad. Evan Neal is not visiting Miami this weekend. Neal is from Okeechobee but plays at IMG. Per 247Sports, IMG has mandatory team activites this weekend which also affects Trey Sanders. Nakobe Dean is visiting FSU and maybe UF too. Per BOL, Tyrion Davis won't be visiting UGA and Bama this weekend, due to a family emergency.

ETA: George Pickens didn't make it on Sun. His mom had said it might end up being too much, following his AU visit and FSU's SNL Camp.

ETA: Although Champions Cookout II attendance doesn't hold a candle to the first one, it seems to me that's actually a good thing. Bama made sure they got lots of their top 2019 and 2020 targets' visits done in done in June, instead of having to compete with all the other schools' events this weekend.

How many RB's are yall taking this class. Sanders will be one, second? Tyrion Davis looks promising. He's been high on my board. Curious on the interest with he and others...... if you're taking 2 lol

Two: Trey Sanders and Keilan Robinson (APB, already committed). I think Bama and Davis are both just working on backup options. I doubt we'll have room for a 3rd RB.

ETA: It's smart for UGA to target Emery, Cain and Davis as they are. LSU knows they can't land but two of those three. If/when two commit to LSU, the 3rd will go elsewhere. It seems like LSU must like Cain a lot. Otherwise, they probably could've already gotten Emery to commit. If Eaux holds out for Cain, he might end up with only one of those three. We'll see.

I've been thinking that Saban is going to come to the podium on National Signing Day after signing a class of only the top 27 tailbacks between 5'8" and 5'10" and 170 and 190 pounds. After becoming frustrated with the line of questioning about the strange nature of the class from the assembled journalist he sneers as says, "I mean they are called All PURPOSE BACKS for a reason. Now maybe you don't believe we should have running backs at every position, but I guess I'm just old school. I mean we already cross-train at most positions anyway."

Currently this weekend looks like more of a boon to the 2020 class unless something happens with Wright or Harris. Not mad though, never too early to get started on #TYPH20ON or whatever the hell they call it.

Both of our Cookouts have been sort of duds as far as netting commitments. They still play a purpose but dang if it wouldn’t be nice if these events started producing some exciting news like they seem to do at other schools pretty regularly. Maybe Christian Harris gets the green light and pulls the trigger?

I'd really like for that to happen. It'd be a smart move to take Christian Harris now, imo. I think he fits very well at ILB and can contribute early. I do like our chances of getting Nakobe Dean, but we really need to take a 3rd ILB anyway, and Harris would ensure that we've got at least two really good ILBs on board. To'oto'o is arguably better, but he has all the top PAC12 schools after him and says he probably wont sign until February. I think it'll be tough to land him after Dean is on board. 2020 LB Reggie Grimes might be a good one to take now too, imo. He appears to be a pretty dang good LB prospect who'd probably actively help recruit.

None of the guys on commit watch even showed up. Sanders, Hill, Neal, Ika, etc. Webb didn’t even show. The guys you mentioned did commit but not at or right after the first Cookout. So yeah, sort of duds if you just measure them by commitments produced. I realize they play a part in the bigger picture of recruitment, just saying I wish we got some big news Sunday nights after these deals and we generally haven’t been and this one doesn’t look promising from where I sit unless Harris gets the green light.

To be fair: IMG wouldn't let Sanders and Neal take trips this weekend and they both came in June. Sanders intended to come and at IMG's media day Neal said he would've come to Bama and/or maybe FSU. Hill came in April and OVd in June and he has rarely made any repeat visits anywhere. Iirc, Ika came again in June and BOL said Webb visited Bama 3 times in June.

Ika might commit now if he had a green light. I don't think he has one yet. I think Hill is going to commit to Bama before football season and blow off his scheduled OV to Mich. Sanders has also said there's a chance he might finalize his decision and commit before the season.

I don't get why Webb keeps on looking around like he is. Hopefully, this weekend's trips to Clemson and UGA will get that out of his system. I'm a little disappointed that Dent and Sopsher aren't on the visitors list. It seems like it would also be good to have Diabate visit again this weekend, in case Bama decides later on to push for him. But given how well Bama is recruiting this year, that's about all the complaining I can muster up.

ETA: Btw, I didn't downvote your post.

Per BOL, Tyrion Davis won't be visiting UGA and Bama this weekend, due to a family emergency. Hopefully there's not anything seriously bad for anyone in his family.
