On a side note, I know we are only taking a small WR class, but we really don’t seem to be in the with any of the 5-stars this year. After Julio, Coop and Ridley, seems we’d be in it for most of the top guys. Perhaps this WR class is just a bit weak as well.

This class has 3-4 extremely good WRs, then drops off significantly. Thankfully, we don't really need WRs in this class so it won't affect us very much.

I'd put the top guys in this class up against any other class that has come out in the last 10 years too.

Thankfully the 2020 WR class seems to be deeper. And Alabama already has one committed.

And leads for the #1 WR, Julian Fleming.

Want a surprise commitment possibility (and I have no idea how this would work with the numbers... it really makes no sense, but do know he's much higher on the board than has been discussed) for this weekend or soon thereafter?

Wandale Robinson

The only way I see Wandale being a part of this class is if he takes Keilan Robinson's place. I mean, they are practically identical on the field. We don't need 2 APB/Slot guys in this class. We need a true RB, D-Linemen, ILB and O-Linemen.

Three-Point Stance: Top 10 coaches; 2019 WR-TE combos; big commits

Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell’s thought-provoking Three-Point Stance is here with his top 10 coaches in college football, the best WR/TE recruiting for 2019 so far and the biggest commitments of the last week.

2. TOP PASS-CATCHING COMBOS IN 2019 CLASSES

I wrote about the best QB/RB combinations by school so far in 2019 so I’ll continue the series by taking a look at the WR/TE combinations with one school clearly ahead of the rest. Here are the top seven so far…

Oklahoma – With Theo Wease, Arjei Henderson and Trejan Bridges at wide receiver and Austin Stogner at tight end, Oklahoma is clearly the king at the wide receiver/tight end position.

Georgia – Jadon Haselwood and Dominick Blaylock are a great 1-2 punch and tight end Ryland Goede is a four-star so Georgia is clearly No. 2.

Oregon – Lance Wilhoite and Josh Delgado are two excellent receivers and tight end Patrick Herbert is a terrific athlete for his position.

Clemson – Frank Ladson is a potential five-star at wide receiver and Jaelyn Lay is a beast at tight end. Clemson also has Brannon Spector and Davis Allen.

Texas A&M – Kenyon Jackson and Kam Brown are two very good receivers and Chase Lane is no slouch. Baylor Cupp is just shy of a four-star tight end as well.

Alabama – John Metchie and Jahleel Billingsley are a really solid 1-2 combo at wide receiver and tight end.

Wake Forest – I have to give Wake a shoutout here with two awesome receivers in Nolan Groulx and Donavon Greene as recruiting is going as well at Wake as it has in years.

The way things have been going with the commits being unexpected guys, you just know this is gonna be the commit from this weekend. (I'm mostly joking.)

Devin Graham is a Guy to Keep an Eye Out For

quote:

Standing at 6-feet-2-inches and weighing 275 pounds, Devin Graham made his presence felt during his sophomore year and could soon be on several coaches’ radar.

Graham started every game last season. He was fueled by his desire to do his job and be a leader on and off the field.

“Not just to win the game, but also win my individual matchup,” Devin Graham said. “If it all comes down to it, I at least want to beat the guy that’s in front of me.”

The Mobile, Alabama-native doesn’t hold any offers currently but an offer would mean everything to him.

“It would mean that absolute world and more to me if I got an offer,” Graham added. “That would be awesome.”

The opportunity to play at the next level is one that Devin will embrace. He feels that he will bring a ton to a college football team.

“I will bring positive energy and a good work ethic,” Devin Graham added. “I have no problem with taking instructions and dealing with the toughness of football itself and striving to be best on the team.”

Graham’s father, Kevin Graham, is a former Grambling State football player under legendary coach, Eddie Robinson. He feels Devin possesses the attributes to succeed at the next level with his power and passion to deliver on the football field.

“His strength is unmatched.” Kevin Graham said. “He is very powerful and has a great motor. His passion for the game shows in his play.”

Off the field, Devin is a leader and a role model for everyone in his school.

“Devin is a very outgoing young man,” Kevin Graham said. “He is very respectable. He holds a 3.6 GPA and is a team leader. He is very passionate and is one of the strongest guys in his class. Teachers love him. He is a bit of a peacekeeper at his school.”

Devin makes his living in the trenches. He is great at clogging up holes, making it difficult for teams to run the ball inside. The motor that his father spoke of shows on film as he shows flashes of how fast he can fire off the ball and lower the boom on ball carriers.

Alabama is Devin’s dream school but he is searching for an opportunity to play anywhere that gives him the opportunity to succeed at the next level. He attended Nick Saban’s football camp this Summer and plans to continue to work and show why should be on the radar of college coaches across the nation.

This kid has plenty of time to grow as he is only a rising junior. Don’t be surprised if you see this kid reeling in offers in the future.

His dad isn't biased at all.

Can I hijack a moment of this thread to ask for suggestions for food and fun while in Chicago?

Gf convinced me to come up with her for a business trip and I ain't got nothing to do for 2 days. Staying south of the city, but like I said, I should have time to kill.

Would be what I would think as well. But have seen two people that I trust now say to keep a close eye on him this weekend or very soon. I'm not exactly sure what that means. And I've heard that before (Latu's cousin) on guys that it never panned out on, but the guys dropping the hints are generally pretty accurate.

LSURb thread on Ishmael and Rodney Sopsher

It appears they are willing to give a scholarship to Rodney.

Bama's wealth of talented soph and freshman WRs makes it tougher to land WRs in this cycle. For that same reason WR isn't a pressing need. We should do well at WR in the 2020 class.
