That's exactly what I've done.
What don't you like about his films compared to what you have watched from the other guys? If he does stick with Bama what position/role do you think he will play.

Probably not...but I'm sure all of those guys expect somewhat to play early and I doubt all are willing to sit and wait. I want Pickening and In a more than anyone tho.
According to pretty reliable insiders, Tuitele has gotten a green light. If so, he might even already be a silent commit that will announce before long. And if that's the situation, Bama can then safely afford to be very selective.
Also per those insiders: The staff really likes and would take any one of Sopsher, Leal or Pickering who's willing to fully commit and shut it down. The staff is very confident about getting Sopsher.
I think Ika would probably commit now if given a green light, maybe Wright too. Bottom line: I seriously doubt that Cheney will be in this class.
ETA: If I had to pick two more DLs right now that I think are the most likely to end up in this class, I'd pick Tuitele and Sopsher.

I have said it many times, go back in the pages and see my posts

If you have the time to go back and actually watch all his videos from camp. He is easily stone-walled, doesn't really have a second move and doesn't really explode off the line.
This right here? Anything else or is this a good summary? Does camp film give a better impression of a prospect than game film or do you mostly have to play it by feel?

Iirc, it was actually back in 2016. Evan Neal had been leaning Miami this spring and some think he won't leave the state, but since his visit to UA in June, he's talking like he is very seriously considering Bama. If he wanted to commit this summer or fall, it would not surprise if Bama takes him instead of waiting around to see what Wright decides.
May 6, 2016 according to 247 timeline. I was thinking of Deyavie Hammond. Committed in May 2017.

That's a good summary.
Look at his junior season film. The reason I was initially high on him is he had great get off on the snap, showed quick hands and was disruptive.
Why did my opinion change?
Over the last months against tougher competition, he hasn't show the same get off. When he initially engages he doesn't have leverage because he sometimes is too high. He flashes an initial move but if the OL stuffs that he ends up stone-walls because he can't use his quickness to beat the OL. He flashes fast hands at times, but again these OL are sitting, bulling their neck and punching well so he isn't getting to far with it.
As I said, he is a decent prospect. However he is a project. If we are trying to feel a need for an immediate impact player, he isn't our guy at this time.

I read the board for entertainment and updates on future of the team through recruits. I only “watch film” for entertainment too. Why would anyone watch film to try to evaluate a kid? Surely you all trust if saban and staff accept a commitment then they’ve evaluated and feel the kid can help win games.

It's a great summary but it's camp and also im willing to bet our staff values his block shedding/run stopping ability that you see on film more than anything. That's what wins us games.

Dude, yes. I am not going to print this thread out and march down to Tuscaloosa, although that would be funny. However other people do have experience and opinions. Other people do evaluate film, it ain't a big deal. Some people invent in their spare time. That doesn't mean that because they don't get paid for their ideas they may not have good opinions.

You may have always seen Tomlinson that way for all I knew but there’s some serious revisionist history on him. He was very much a questionable take by many Alabama fans in 2012.

I knew if I nagged you enough you would come around.
Now if you could just stop taking disagreement or simple questions as arguing we could get together and break down some film.
ETA: I think I may have upvoted you for the first time ever

That's what I saw that attracted me. Then I see a kid who is getting frustrated when his first move doesn't work and resorts to trying to bull rush and gets stuff because the OL base is wide and he's sitting well, body posture upward and arms punching.
Look, I'm not saying this kids sucks. I have said many times he is a decent prospect, he just needs years to develop.
When I see other kids they look like they can contribute right away and that's probably what we're going to need.

Agree with all of this and didn’t mean to imply opinion wasn’t good just because you weren’t paid for it. My point was mainly that people who stress about a kid being a “take” are wasting mental energy. If the staff takes it doesn’t mean they’ll let him sign. If they do, it means either A) he’s good, B) missed on others and he’s a good fall back, or C) both.
My point was no need to worry. Evaluate film as a hobby and for fun. It’s cool. No worries man. And no judgement. Just saying how I view the situation. Happy 4th.

One more thing, I get that he isn't in full pads, but the reality is that is suppose to benefit the DL not the OL.
To be honest I don't care about them. I actually take more pride in the downvotes.
If TideSaint and Cobra have somebody so salty they automatically downvote every one of their post... why shouldn't I?
