Does anyone else feel like we dont get Sophser? Alot of people assume or say its a silent verbal and because of our recent success to snag the 5 stars out of Louisiana, but maybe we dont get this one

Like TideSaint said, we good. LSU is Sopsher's #2, so he'll visit LSU and speak well of them, especially when interviewed by LSU reporters. Some LSU recruiting reporters, especially Sam Speigelman (SEC Country), spin their articles overly optimistic for Sopsher to LSU. Sopsher won't reveal the true status of his recruitment, in order to avoid harrassment by the crazy segment of LSU fans.

Harris, Morris, Pappoe and Watson commit ... Who's solid, who's not?

quote:

On Tuesday evening, we saw Wanya Morris commit to Tennessee, Owen Pappoe commit to Auburn, Kenyatta Watson II commit to Texas and Kevin Harris commit to Alabama. These are just four recruits that made a decision on the same night, but these are four teammates at Loganville (Ga.) Grayson.

The Grayson program is one of the best in the country and they have double-digit commitments in the 2019 class.

The four that committed Tuesday all are part of the Rivals250 and each had options from coast to coast. We will put each into a category to show just how strong we feel their commitment is still seven and a half months out from the Early Signing Period in December.

WORTH WATCHING

Kevin Harris

This one had a few late twists, but Harris settled on Alabama a few days before his announcement. A week ago, Miami held the lead and the Hurricanes were the favorite to land Harris. When talking to Harris earlier this week before he went public, he did say all the right things about his decision, but we do not expect Miami to go away and LSU has been in this as well. Alabama does not lose many commits they truly want in Tuscaloosa, so if the Crimson Tide stay on Harris, regardless of what Mark Richt or Ed Orgeron do, he will be a tough pull.

The Grayson Four: Why it's big, why it hurts for each school involved

Kevin Harris to Alabama

Why it’s big for the Tide: Harris fits the mold of several other Alabama hybrid defensive end/linebacker prospects that have had success in the Tide's defense over the years. He looks like an ideal fit and has the chance to fill right away considering the amount of talent likely to move on from Tuscaloosa after the 2018 season. Harris’ commitment also marks a big move for Alabama back into the Atlanta area, which is important considering the school didn’t sign one prospect from the state of Georgia in the 2018 class.

Why it hurts for others: At times over the past six weeks it looked like both LSU and Miami were in prime position to land Harris, with the Canes feeling confident all the way through this past weekend. Instead, both are left looking elsewhere as Alabama’s late push was enough to pass both the Tigers and the Canes. Harris has drawn comparisons to former LSU star Arden Key and seems like he would have been a great fit at LSU. Miami was hoping to mine Georgia for another quality player.

I know the guy. Im sure he looks in this thread for information.

Most of those guys dont really know anything or maybe they knew one recruit- but once people start believing them, Tim or some other people on staff send them some information so that they can post it. It is a good model because the staff cant say some things but other people can, plus it keeps the site active. Also, to be fair, I havent really followed recruiting in years, I just read this thread and I appreciate the work you all put in. I just know thats how it used to work.

Saw this on a UT board which I believe relates to it. Not sure if I can post all of it but as mentioned is was on another forum.

quote:

Dale talks about his top five.

ALABAMA: "My last visit to Alabama was great. I saw the spring game and I liked how tough each team was. I have been there five or six times now and I like it there. I have gotten to know the coaches and my family likes it there too. Overall, Alabama is just a great place and they win."

AUBURN: "My defensive line coach and coach [Rodney] Garner have known each other for a long time and they remind me of each other. Coach Garner really knows how to coach guys up and I like that a lot."

CLEMSON: "I was up there in March for a Junior Day and I got to see practice. I liked how they were working as a team and it feels like one big family there. Coach [Todd] Bates and I talk just about every day and we have built a strong relationship. The whole staff and I just get along."

FSU: "It has that family feel to it down at Florida State. Coach [Odell] Haggins has been played there, he has been coaching there close to 25 years and he is a great coach. He has been there through three head coaches, so he is one of the best. I know he could coach me well."

TENNESSEE: "I think Tennessee has put a great staff together. Coach [Jeremy] Pruitt is all about defense, so I like that. Coach [Tracy] Rocker is a great defensive line coach and he's been recruiting me since he was at Georgia, so I know him well. He knows my family too, so that is nice."

When asked if there was a leader, Dale said no and that is what he was working towards at this time. He is putting some deep thought into making this decision because he only once commit one time. "I am going to follow my heart," said Dale. "I have taken my time and when I commit, I want to be done. I am working to find the school that will take care of me best since I will be leaving home."

I don't think he's "ours" yet, but when it's all said and done, with Pettito on our side (who basically owns that area) and 7SU's upcoming season looking very difficult (putting it mildly), I very much like our chances.
