Dale will lose the weight with coach Cochran. Has got some nice film as well. Hell Daron Payne at one point was around 340 wasn't he?
Daron Payne's Rivals old high school profile has him at 6-2/335. He might've been 340ish by the time he got to Bama. His current 247Sports Bama player profile says 6-2/308.
That's pretty close to what DJ Dale needs to do. I was actually texting with TideSaint about Dale today, saying Cochran and Kug can turn him into a really good DT, if Dale puts in the work. They can actually start advising him on physical training and DL technique now. Plus he can camp at Bama this summer.
BOL, SEC Country, Bama3714... errbody saying (since this weekend) that Dale is a take.

Yeah pretty sure he got Heavy his senior year of high school. Not comparing the two at all. Payne was an underrated stud by our fan base at least. Hell started several games his freshman year with guys like Allen,Robinson and Reed on the roster.

I wanted a new commit today. It's probably too late for it now.

There's a lot of talent in that picture, but I'd love to have some big wide receivers too.

Me too.
Shavers and Kief are our only real tall WRs, but we're loaded at TE. Irv Smith, he good. Kedrick James is 6-6/270, runs a 4.7 40-yd and is a very good route runner with very good hands. He reportedly had a really good spring and he'll only be a soph this fall.
ETA: I'll post a copy of the updated Top Targets list, which is kept in 2nd post of this thread.

Dan Enos is visiting 4* CB Jaydon Hill (6-0/172) today at Bob Jones HS in Madison, AL. Hill really showed out at the Nike Opening in Atlanta, boosting his rating a lot. He might get an offer.

Elite DB Daxton Hill talks A-Day, will narrow list soon (BamaOnLine-VIP)
5-star S/CB Daxton Hill 6-1/190 (OK) hudl
Hill and his parents liked "everything" about their visit very much. Saban compared Hill to Minkah (versatile S/CB/DBs leader) and said he's the #1 DB priority. Despite current crystal balls, he said he has no leader. He plans to narrow his top-5 within 2-3 weeks and commit in early summer. Does Bama have a good chance? "Definitely."
ETA: In an interview (BOL-VIP) earlier this month Hill said distance and his brother playing at Okie State won't affect his decision.
ESPN - Daxton Hill (#1 Ath) combine results
Noteworthy: Jarrian Jones' commitment filled OU's safety needs and now they're after pure CB prospects. They'd still take Hill due to his talent level, but he's less of a priority for them now.

'A really big weight off my shoulders': Taulia Tagovailoa talks Alabama commitment
quote:
Taulia Tagovailoa entered this week feeling a sense of relief.
The Thompson 2019 four-star quarterback and brother of Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa committed to the Crimson Tide on Saturday. With his recruiting grind apparently over, the younger Tagovailoa is looking forward to focusing on his senior season.
Tagovailoa (5-11, 203) is rated the nation's No. 8 pro-style quarterback and No. 210 player overall by the 247Sports Composite. He is the second 2019 quarterback commitment for Alabama, joining Hewitt-Trussville's Paul Tyson.
Tagovailoa excelled as a junior in his first season at Thompson following his family's move from Hawaii. He threw for 3,823 yards and 35 touchdowns against just eight interceptions, was the Class 7A Back of the Year and finished third in Mr. Football voting. Tagovailoa helped lead the Warriors to a 12-1 record and the program's best postseason showing since 1987.
AL.com caught up with Tagovailoa this afternoon.
Q: How good did it feel to commit?
Tagovailoa: "I think that it was the best timing for me to commit early. I think it's a really big weight off my shoulders because I'm trying to graduate early. There's been a lot with trying to deal with coaches and my school work at the same time; especially with workouts, too. It feels good to finally be committed and focus on that one school, but more so focus on my grades and getting my schoolwork done so I can graduate early."
Q: Was there any special significance to committing on A-Day?
Tagovailoa: "My parents and I talked about when is a good time. A-Day was perfect for us; just the timing and the setting of it. It was cool."
Q: Were there other schools that you considered heavily or was Alabama a clear favorite?
Tagovailoa: "I did favor Tennessee at one time. I really liked it over there because of coach (Jeremy) Pruitt and what they're doing. But, at the end of the day, it was, 'What is going to be better for me and my family?,' and Alabama was that."
Q: What about Alabama stood out to you and attracted you to the program?
Tagovailoa: "It will prepare me for the future. I've seen the great things that it did for my brother in just one year. I don't see any reason not to be a part of it."
Q: Will you take visits to any schools besides Alabama?
Tagovailoa: "I'm not sure. I think that's one thing my family needs to sit down and talk about."
Q: Alabama already had a commitment from Hewit-Trussville's Paul Tyson. Did that make any difference as you were making your college decision?
Tagovailoa: "No, sir. I think it's good for him that he committed to Alabama. It will be cool to get to know him and be on the same team as him, knowing that he's a really good quarterback, and competing against him every day. I'm sure it will get me better and get him better, too."
Q: You still have your senior season to play. What are your expectations for yourself and your team?
Tagovailoa: "We've got to keep working hard and do everything that it takes to get that Blue Map and bring it to Alabaster."

And, as a bonus, the Tide should start the month of May nicely. Kevin Harris, a 4-star linebacker prospect from Grayson High School (Loganville, Ga.), is scheduled to announce his decision on May 1. Alabama is in excellent shape to land Harris’ commitment.
