Wow. I would've thought that Pickering would be the #1 DE on our board.

1a & 1b

ETA: Maybe Alfano is the #1 DE on the board because Pickering is already a silent commit to Bama.

HE might wind up holding off until late, but Darnell Wright should be considered to be on commit watch. Bama leads BIG over utk. Could possibly decide to commit very soon.

FWIW, that being said on Wright, I doubt that's what the tweet is referring to. Probably Webb would be my guess.

I thought Ohio St was our main competition for Darnell Wright. Are they lagging behind now?

ETA: Any scoop on our chances with Devontae Dobbs?

Those strips are stupid. Shuffling the board every damn day last year cost us a handful of elite guys.

Kirby identified his Top 20 guys and went after them hard. We identified 5 and got fricked.

Dang, he's quick. I like Pickering's film more, but I'd gladly take a commitment from Alfano.

If he doesn't come here don't worry we have four or five guys better than him waiting.

Last year's staff also didn't have the same energy as the new hires. The new hires seem to be doing a much better job of developing relationships with recruits, too. And we don't have someone on staff (cough Dunbar) that essentially cost us Coynis Miller and Malik Langham with the comments that he allegedly made.

I've not heard anything on where we stand with Dobbs. A former OL that talks with staff (you all probably know who I'm talking about) doesn't like Dobbs very much as an OT. Loves all 5 of the OL that we are leading on, though (Webb, Kight, Wright, Quick, and Bell). Thinks Bell is Warmack 2.0 regardless of his ranking. Thinks Webb is one of those rare guys that might can start as a true freshman at center. Thinks Kight is criminally underranked and should be a 5*. Thinks Quick "looks like Jane, but plays like Tarzan". Haha. The opposite of how a lot of highly ranked OL are when they get to college. A great player and technician with a nasty streak, but doesn't have the great body yet. He's very bullish on this potential class. Just as much as the GOAT 2017 class at this same point.

It might sound like sunshine pumping, but I don't care. I'm extremely excited about recruiting right now. I think it'll be another #1 class.

Thanks. I like Dobbs for an OG who could also be backup depth at OT.
