Primer: Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Team Mississippi is led by uncommitted five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean out of Horn Lake (Miss.) High. The blue-chip recruit and top-ranked inside linebacker by 247Sports took official visits to Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M, while also considering the in-state programs. He’ll announce his college decision on Dec. 19 during the Early Signing Period.
As a senior, Dean racked up 175 tackles including 26 for loss en route to winning his state’s Gatorade Player of the Year honors. The instinctive, physical football player also picked off three passes, forced two fumbles and had seven sacks en route to an undefeated season and state championship.
A two-way standout, Dean rushed for six touchdowns. He ranks as the nation’s No. 14 prospect regardless of position per the 247Sports Composite.

Mississippi State defensive end commit Nathan Pickering, Alabama defensive end pledge Byron Young and Auburn defensive end commit Jaren Handy are big-bodied, versatile players that all rank inside the Top100 of the Top247 Composite Player Rankings. Another Mississippi State commit in defensive end Charles Moore arrives ranked No. 105 nationally.
Beyond those guys, you have Auburn defensive end commit Jamond Gordon and Tennessee defensive end commit Jalil Clemons.

Also for Team Alabama, LSU quarterback commit Peter Parrish replaces Alabama quarterback pledge Taulia Tagovailoa who is out with injury and Clemson safety commit Ray Thornton is in for Auburn cornerback commit Nehemiah Pritchett. Parrish's team Phenix City (Ala.) Central team won a state championship over the weekend defeating Tagovailoa's squad.
I wanted Pierce in Montgomery this week to help lock down Nakobe Dean.
ETA: Having said that, it's good Webb won't be there to do the same.

Yea that’s my thought. 90% of their posters just concede him to Bama bc they are used to it and don’t want to get their hopes up. All insiders I have read say LSU is very much in it for him. I will be glad to be wrong on this one .

Despite not being an early signee, Byron Young says he is 100% committed to Alabama.
He wants to take his OVs before signing. The only one he has scheduled so far is to LSU next month.

I am 50/50 right regarding Sospher to UA. I also think Thib stays on the west coast and would not be shocked if he picked USC. To'oto'o recruitment will be interesting and hope we land him as he seems like a great fit our program

People read stuff written by homers like Sam Spiegelman, who's now with Rivals-LSU, and see a lot of 247 CBs for LSU. But well-connected people are aware that Ish and his father believe Bama is the best choice for his future.
